Product Overview

Have a high ceiling basement with a 4 in. Dia support column over 8 ft. tall that needs to be covered. We have a solution for that too. Columns over 8 ft. will require the addition of this 4 ft. Wrap Extention made from the same premium oak material as our standard length 8 ft. Oak Wrap. We recommend purchasing our Oak Pole-Wrap Drink Shelf as well to hide the joining seam and add functionality to your beautifully finished column. Simply cut the length and W of the Extension to cover your column under the desired height of your Drink Shelf. Then cut and add the standard 8 ft. Wrap to cover the rest of your column to the ceiling. Oak Cap & Base trim is optional and sold separately.

California residents: see   Proposition 65 information

  • Installs quick and easy with construction adhesive (e.g., liquid nails - not included)

You can easily beautify a radiator steam pipe in your home with Pole-Wrap. Start by building a simple PVC housing structure around your pipe. The Home Depot and Lowe’s sell white, 4 inch diameter PVC pipe to quickly make this housing structure. The housing serves three purposes. First, it provides an air space around the pipe and an opening to allow heat to escape and heat the room as designed. Secondly, air space prevents damaging heat from being transferred directly to the PVC and Pole-Wrap wood product. Lastly, the housing will produce a 4 inch diameter finished column that is more esthetically pleasing than your existing narrow 2 inch diameter steam pipe. After cutting the overall length of the PVC to fit between your ceiling and floor, make two full length cuts spaced as wide as your steam pipe (about 2 inches apart). A regular table saw with a rip fence will allow you to make these cuts quickly and exactly. Next, position the housing so the opening faces the adjacent wall, and secure the top and bottom with a bead of construction adhesive where the PVC meets the ceiling and floor. You are now ready to install Pole-Wrap around your PVC housing leaving your 2 inch wide cut in back uncovered. This opening will not be noticeable since the steam pipe is likely very close to the adjacent wall. Use construction adhesive to glue the Wrap to the PVC, and also to fasten Pole-Wrap Cap & Base trim molding to ceiling and floor around housing for added anchoring. Apply two coats of clear polyurethane or paint to match your decor.
