Product Overview

Pond Shield is a non-toxic epoxy liner designed for the pond and water feature industry. Created to construction water features or ponds with a more designer, formal or natural look than rubber liners are able to offer with no more unsightly folds or creases. In addition, unlike rubber liners, Pond Shield is available in eight colors - Black, Clear, Competition Blue, Sky Blue, Forest Green, Tan, Gray and White. Pond Shield is used for waterproofing structured surfaces found in water features such as Koi ponds, pools, fountains, aquariums, salt water tanks, hydroponics, streams, waterfalls, reflecting pools, mini lakes, holding tanks, etc. Easily applied and easy to maintain, for most applications, a single coat application is all that is needed for proper coverage. In addition, your pond will be virtually maintenance free with a surface that algae can be easily wiped off of and is safe for fish and plants. Pond Shield offers both strength and flexibility in a coating, strength and flexibility that is tested from -78° F to 140° F. Pond Shield is an epoxy pond liner that has been specifically designed to bond to porous or abraded materials. With a tensile bond strength stronger than the internal strength of the concrete, your single coat of Pond Shield epoxy will stick to what you apply it to. Over time, hairline cracks can form in concrete, mortar or grout joints. Being flexible, Pond Shield resists mimic cracking and provides the best protection possible in a coating.

Does this product work for waterfalls? I've used other epoxy and the speed of the water has peeled the epoxy away.

Answer:
Water can CUT stone. Nothing you use on moving water will stop it from etching away at the surface. This product is tough as nails, like stone, especially if two coats are used, but over time, nature wins. Look at the Grand Canyon to see what running water will do to stone. I used this on a bird bath and after 3 years the color has faded in spots but peeling is doubtful.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 94 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but hard to work with My pond came out good, but the paint is hard to work with. It set up very quickly. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks amazing I as worried about mixing the epoxy solution but it blended great with no issues. The color was exactly as described. I chose to paint it on because we used it in a deep pond, luckily the smell wasn't too strong or noxious August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our pond looks wonderful We have a very small concrete pond that we use for our swimming turtles. Very porous and rough finish The previous owner of the house used paint to finish the pond and it looked terrible and we were afraid the peeling paint would harm our turtles. We visited Home Depot and were told about Pond Armor. Unfortunately this product is not stocked at the store so we had to order it online. My husband followed the directions and said it was pretty easy to apply and it dried very quickly. Our pond looks wonderful and our turtles are happy. June 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good epoxy paint The product arrived safely and well packed. I used this for other applications, than ponds. I used it on primed metal, and some wood, as a finish. I applied it with 6" foam rollers, and a chip brush, in odd corners, and the result was excellent. I like that the product is a 1:1 mix. It flowed fine. I painted on a level surface, so runs, weren't an issue. It cured to, what seems, to be a durable finish. The color is even and consistent. I like it a lot! Be sure to be realistic about how much you will use at one time. Once, you mix, it will harden within a time window. I do have some left over, and I will update my review, if I use it on different substrates. So far, I would recommend it. June 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works perfectly - no leaks We were restoring an old fountain from my wife's childhood days. I rebuilt the base but could not get a perfect leakproof seal. The reviews were great indcating that this product would work. Indeed it does. It was a lttle pricey but worked. That was all i needed. You have to purchase denatured alcohol separately. Would have been nice to include all items. Nice high gloss finish. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fountain is easier to clean While this project was a little involved with all the mixing and steps, I am very satisfied with the results. The fountain looks great and is easier to keep clean. It does make the surface very slippery for the birds when they try to get a drink, but they still manage. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really Works This stuff really does work. Easy to mix. You do need denatured alcohol in the mix too. Only mix what you will use in a 15-20 minute time frame. After 25-30 minutes this begins to get stiff and firm up. Used on a fountain. Put two coats on and waited 48 hours to fill with water. This does dry clear and with a glossy finish. Would buy again but my only negative is the price. This stuff does work but is a bit pricey. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A little early to say greatest ever but hopeful This epoxy was used to line a fountain in our courtyard. We had a leak and this is supposed to fix it. One warning, in very high heat, as in our case July in Savannah, GA, this product swelled up to 4 times its size, overflowing the can and unable to use. Obviously this should be stated on the can.
