Product Overview

Pond Shield is a non-toxic epoxy liner designed for the pond and water feature industry. Created to construction water features or ponds with a more designer, formal or natural look than rubber liners are able to offer with no more unsightly folds or creases. In addition, unlike rubber liners, Pond Shield is available in eight colors - Black, Clear, Competition Blue, Sky Blue, Forest Green, Tan, Gray and White. Pond Shield is used for waterproofing structured surfaces found in water features such as Koi ponds, pools, fountains, aquariums, salt water tanks, hydroponics, streams, waterfalls, reflecting pools, mini lakes, holding tanks, etc. Easily applied and easy to maintain, for most applications, a single coat application is all that is needed for proper coverage. In addition, your pond will be virtually maintenance free with a surface that algae can be easily wiped off of and is safe for fish and plants. Pond Shield offers both strength and flexibility in a coating, strength and flexibility that is tested from -78° F to 140° F. Pond Shield is an epoxy pond liner that has been specifically designed to bond to porous or abraded materials. With a tensile bond strength stronger than the internal strength of the concrete, your single coat of Pond Shield epoxy will stick to what you apply it to. Over time, hairline cracks can form in concrete, mortar or grout joints. Being flexible, Pond Shield resists mimic cracking and provides the best protection possible in a coating.

I have a pond constructed of concrete blocks. I see that this can be applied to concrete but will it work on block and mortar?
Asked by: dd
This stuff seals like blown glass. I have used it on several different types of applications. #1. Never use this on concrete stairs. Its as slippery as glass. I used this mostly on my concrete yard ornaments. Bird baths are the best. It never fades or stains, is extremely waterproof, and protects the concrete. I do not see you having any problems using this fine product. I have used this in ALL colors and they all are terrific. Pricey, but well worth the long life wear.

I am using this to repaint an old Hot tub, this is the paint I was hoping to find the first time I repainted it. This paint will last a very long time, you have to plan carefully as you only have a limited work time before it sets up. Very good paint. I am going to love having my hot tub back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it says it will do This product did exactly as it was supposed to do: it worked! We used it in a large koi pond that is a split level, shallow on one end, and a deeper pool on the other end, lined with a concrete bottom and sides. We have 10 large koi, and had a leak that we could not resolve with any other product. I don't have to describe the loads of work it takes to fix a leak in such a large pond. Emptying water into large containers to conserve water, transferring fish to other holding areas to keep them healthy, and then cleaning and prepping the affected area was a lot of work. But if you use this product exactly as described and recommended, you will get results that you only hoped you could have. We have had the pond as full as it should be, and not one drop of water is evident outside of it. The leaks have apparently all disappeared, and we now have the pond we had originally: completely a place pf peace and beauty, and no annoying and costly leaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our pond looks wonderful We have a very small concrete pond that we use for our swimming turtles. Very porous and rough finish The previous owner of the house used paint to finish the pond and it looked terrible and we were afraid the peeling paint would harm our turtles. We visited Home Depot and were told about Pond Armor. Unfortunately this product is not stocked at the store so we had to order it online. My husband followed the directions and said it was pretty easy to apply and it dried very quickly. Our pond looks wonderful and our turtles are happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hard to use This is a good product although it is very expensive since it done only about 1/2 of the coverage stated. it is very thick and will start to harden in about 10 minutes. I ordered 1 qt to seal a new concrete fishpond. i mixed it in a mouthwash plastic 2" cup making up about a regular cup at a time. (You will also need a little denatured alcohol to thin it.) I had no problem other than coverage. I applied it with a throw away brush. looks petty good after 2nd coat. For the second pond i had to reorder and feeling more confident i mixed up a double batch. (2 cups) This turned out to be a mistake as it hardened before I could apply it all. (About 15 min.) Also clean up any mess as i had a few drops on the patio and had to grind it off.
