Product Overview

Pond Shield is a non-toxic epoxy liner designed for the pond and water feature industry. Created to construction water features or ponds with a more designer, formal or natural look than rubber liners are able to offer with no more unsightly folds or creases. In addition, unlike rubber liners, Pond Shield is available in eight colors - Black, Clear, Competition Blue, Sky Blue, Forest Green, Tan, Gray and White. Pond Shield is used for waterproofing structured surfaces found in water features such as Koi ponds, pools, fountains, aquariums, salt water tanks, hydroponics, streams, waterfalls, reflecting pools, mini lakes, holding tanks, etc. Easily applied and easy to maintain, for most applications, a single coat application is all that is needed for proper coverage. In addition, your pond will be virtually maintenance free with a surface that algae can be easily wiped off of and is safe for fish and plants. Pond Shield offers both strength and flexibility in a coating, strength and flexibility that is tested from -78° F to 140° F. Pond Shield is an epoxy pond liner that has been specifically designed to bond to porous or abraded materials. With a tensile bond strength stronger than the internal strength of the concrete, your single coat of Pond Shield epoxy will stick to what you apply it to. Over time, hairline cracks can form in concrete, mortar or grout joints. Being flexible, Pond Shield resists mimic cracking and provides the best protection possible in a coating.

Answer:
This is very thick and heavy like glass. I don't see how ceramic floats, but it may add some weight to it so it sinks. If they are small, it may work.

Does this product work for waterfalls? I've used other epoxy and the speed of the water has peeled the epoxy away.

Answer:
Water can CUT stone. Nothing you use on moving water will stop it from etching away at the surface. This product is tough as nails, like stone, especially if two coats are used, but over time, nature wins. Look at the Grand Canyon to see what running water will do to stone. I used this on a bird bath and after 3 years the color has faded in spots but peeling is doubtful.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 92 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A little early to say greatest ever but hopeful This epoxy was used to line a fountain in our courtyard. We had a leak and this is supposed to fix it. One warning, in very high heat, as in our case July in Savannah, GA, this product swelled up to 4 times its size, overflowing the can and unable to use. Obviously this should be stated on the can. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent for Cement Fountain Leaks Finally had time to try this great product out on a large bowl cement fountain. The cracks and resulting leakage had made the fountain unusable for years. I am pleased to report that this product is the solution! The directions are straightforward and it set up quickly. Use care to clean the surface beforehand and use protective handwear. I used the entire can but a smaller project might get multiple uses. I would recommend this to any one with a water feature involving fish or birds as it is non-toxic. August 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great on Wash Tubs Too I tried this product on my wash tubs because dirt, lint, etc would cake up on the cast iron type tubs after a few loads of wash and it was a job to keep the tubs clean, to the point of needing to use a paint scrapper. Pond Armor solved this problem. See Photo of Before and After. I used the 1.5 qt kit for this project. I only needed about 3/4 of the kit but because this was my first using this product, I mixed up the whole kit. Armor Pond is pretty easy to apply. It went on easier with my small roller versus my paint brush, but both worked OK. It started hardening up after 20 minutes so you need to work fast or get a helper. TIP: Because the directions nor the bonding cans mention anything about clean-up, be prepared to throw away any items you use on your project. I found a bottle of "Krud Kutter" at Home Depot and it removed the Pond Armor off of my hands and fingers (should have worn gloves). The hardest part of this job was trying to pry off the white plastic safety rings on the Part A & B cans of product. When I called the company, all I got was an answering machine and no return call. I ended up finding the solution on You-Tube. You have to pry them off with a pair of pliers. I've washed 4 loads of laundry since applying Pond Armor to the tubs and all I had to do is wipe the tubs down with a rag, no caking build-up now. I couldn't be more happier with this fix. And the tubs look a lot nicer now as well. Thumbs up. November 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by not very thick of a coating, strong. I followed instructions and found a way of mixing smaller amounts because I did not have a large area to cover at one time. I found this to be useful as a coating for under my Lincoln continental, 17 years old and has never seen a winter, I used my old Lincoln as a prototype as to where to coat because of rot, rust and corrosion. I had to dip brush in a cup that I prepared and it was thick to spread but seemed to dry a lot thinner but does appear to have durability with sheen to it. I was in my work garage and had to heat it up all night so I could take this challenge since I do not have license plates on this car for the winter here in New York. I am satisfied, just wish that I could affordably get a spray gun that shoots vertically so I wouldn't be on my back so long, that would have saved mixing time and applying on about 15 amounts in cups because the first batch I mixed started to skin-up so I thought it was drying to fast. 4 stars would have been better if I used this as paint on a roll-able surface. Has a strong smell to it. I did get gray, close to silver of my car (went on underneath by frame). January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works perfectly - no leaks We were restoring an old fountain from my wife's childhood days. I rebuilt the base but could not get a perfect leakproof seal. The reviews were great indcating that this product would work. Indeed it does. It was a lttle pricey but worked. That was all i needed. You have to purchase denatured alcohol separately. Would have been nice to include all items. Nice high gloss finish. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fountain is easier to clean While this project was a little involved with all the mixing and steps, I am very satisfied with the results. The fountain looks great and is easier to keep clean. It does make the surface very slippery for the birds when they try to get a drink, but they still manage. July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but hard to work with My pond came out good, but the paint is hard to work with. It set up very quickly. June 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pond Shield On-line Purchase I had to phone the on-line customer assistance several times to ensure that the right person was listed to pick-up the product, but overall the on-line purchase/ in store pick up went smoothly. The product itself is very good and cost efficient but can be a little tricky to work with when you're not used to it. Still, the instructions were very good too. July 19, 2016
