Answer:
It is normal that the pool water would be milky after application of copper algicide, especially if there is a lot of algae that has accumulated. Providing the filtration system is running properly, and is sized properly for the pool, this condition should clear in 24 hours.

Answer:
Poolpro, it is not uncommon to get temporary clouding in the area of application when adding PoolTime Algicide Plus. Another potential cause could be from incompatibility with another recently used algicide. Both of these issues should clear over time with good circulation/filtration.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! Works great and as promised. Definitely satisfied with the purchase! July 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Foaming cloudy water 4 days later. Worst mistake was using this to treat minor algae the day before father's day. The week before I made sure my water was perfect and added a stabilizer but still had minor algae so I add the correct amount Saturday morning. It was 108 outside and we were having kids and grand kids over for Fathers Day for pool time and bbq. This product killed the pool time. Water was green, cloudy and insane amount of foam. I ran the spa for a few minutes and it was overflowing with over a foot of white foam. Three days later, 2 overnight filtrations and it is no better. Water looks dirty green and still foams! So disappointing to watch my grandchildren not wanting to go in the water after all I put into this party. June 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cloudy/milky water Used this product to kill algae & all it did was a half way job of killing it and left water so cloudy, I couldn't see bottom of the pool. When I had the water tested, the cooper level was through the roof. There's a white scum that has collected in the bottom that is so fine, the vacuum spits it out. All I can do now is drain the 9000 gal. of water & start over. It was a costly mistake using this brand. September 16, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JUNK! If you want clear green tented water with foam go ahead and use this product. This is an over priced product that does more harm than good. When I called the local pool guy and ask about the clear greenish tent water that has lasted now 10 days he ask me if I used an Algicide from home depot. When I said yes he laughed and said it happens every time. Guess I'll have to wait and see how long it will take for my pool to look good again. August 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by An overpriced Waste of $$ Our pool holds 15,000 gallons of water. Used whole bottle to treat mild - medium case of green algae. 36 hrs later we still have green algae. Ran pool pump for entire 36 hrs as well. I was skeptical when I read the active ingredients which have 3% copper Active ingredient and 97% other Inactive stuff. After researching I found that a copper based algaecide should have about 25 - 30 % copper sulphate. Big difference. This junk is made exclusively for the Home Depot. I found a real algacide online for $16.98 and free shipping. $10 less than the non-working stuff!! Don't throw your $$ away on this overpriced - non-working junk. Wish I could rate it as a minus 5 star, that' how dissapointed I am with this stuff !!!! April 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as Advertised I was a little concerned when reading reviews about leaving pools cloudy. I think if you follow the directions you should be fine. When you first poor in the liquid you will notice some clouding; however, the next morning my water was clear again (I poured it in a few hours before going to bed). I should also note the the bulk of the algae was in my spa which when scrubbed free made my pool greenish but not nearly as bad as some photos I have seen of other pools. I usually buy all of my chemicals from Leslie's Pool but this algaecide seems to work better than the Leslie's brand. I have a pebble tech pool surface and have no staining. I'll definitely will use it in the future. June 15, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It works - if you don't mind blue milky water After 2 week absence and no filtration, the pool bottom and walls turned green with algae. After application of the Pool Time, the water turned milky light blue. Pretty - really, but I am used to clear water. After 96 hours of circulation I am seeing the bottom drain through the murk (a little sarcasm there..) so, perhaps there is hope that the filter will get rid of the color else (?). All is in 'spec': pH, etc. Should have done the usual: just shock the thing and run the pump overnite. The product is VERY expensive, now I am spending another small fortune to circulate 24/7, clean filters, etc. Not happy. April 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it is meant to do. I like that. Have used this product over the years. Very effective in killing off all the algae for a long time. If you have a lot of algae, it is imperative your pool filter can handle the extra waste caused by its demise. If the pool was green to begin with, the filter is probably not so clean to begin with either. If it does not clear in 24 hours there is either a filter malfunction, or the water is not flowing, from what I have seen. Hope this helps people with bad trouble with algae. August 31, 2013
