Hello, I added 8oz of Algicide 50% to my 19000,00 gallon pool/spa. A day and a half ago. And my water has a Strong Odor and Foaming especially when I have the spa jets on. The bottle says none foaming. All my chemicals are in line. What can I do too get rid of the odor and the foam. And is it safe to swim in these conditions.

Answer:
Applying the Algicide 50% at a rate of 8 oz per 19,000 gallons should not cause any significant foaming or odor issues unless you had previously added another dose of the algicide or other algicides within the past few days. It is also possible that you could experience limited foaming if the pool has water features. Typically the foaming should subside within a few days. If you would like to discuss Read More

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Foam all over the pool. Don't buy this product I went cheap and didn't order the 60% stuff from my usual online retailer. What a mistake! Foam four inches high in the jacuzzi and all over the pool. I wasted $14 and my pool looks like it is straight out of a cartoon. Never again. September 29, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Foamy Foams and water feels slick. Definitely not as advertised on their bottle. I read that experts recommend copper-based algaecides because they truly don't foam. They are more expensive though. July 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by foamy swimming Pool has a lot algae . Added the half battle to my 1000 gal pool and foamy like snowing. not too bad September 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Green Algae This is a great value for fighting green algae. Follow the directions as overdosing is just a waste of money. Use as directed and it is a very good value. For tougher algae, like black, you may need a stronger product like The Home Depot's Pool Time Algicide Plus to get it under control. I like to switch applications back and forth between the two products each month. Works for me. February 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cleared up a green pool I left my in-ground vinyl pool unattended for couple of weeks and it turned green. I couldn't even see the bottom of the shallow end. I bought this product just to try it out. I brushed gently the pool followed by adjusting it's Ph to above 7.6 at least. I also removed any metallic ladders or products that could be in the pool. Added the whole bottle of it around the pool and ran the filter for 24 hours. O Boy! I was pleasantly surprised to see the pool crystal clear. :) I did vaccum the remaining algae which was minimal and totally visible. Follow the instructions before using it. 1) brush the pool 2) Bump up The PH 3) add this around the pool 4) run the filter for 24 hrs August 13, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Non-Foaming! Product is advertised as non-foaming but it is not. My spa looks like a bubble bath one week after application. It did kill my algae, though. July 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wow - this stuff worked great and worked fast !!! Pool has some smaller areas of algae growing in several different locations. Added the entire quart to my 22000 gal pool and there was remarkable difference after just 5 hours - does stay foamy but not too bad - works great !!! July 19, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointment w/ product Application resulted in pool water turning green! Tech rep at Pool Time suggests using 3 quarts of Scale, Metal & Stain control to eliminate copper minerals (at $17.88/gt). April 14, 2014
