Customer Questions & Answers

How many tablets come in the container?

Asked by: KiWi
In the brand new 5 lb. (2.2 kg) container I just picked up yesterday, I counted exactly 140 full tablets (no badly broken or crumbled tablets). I hope that helps.

Yes, knowing there WILL BE a "variance" still would like a "ballpark-guesstimate" answer of "APPROXIMATELY" how many?

Asked by: harvener
Harvener, each tablet weights approximately 20 grams or 0.71 ounces which would mean the 5 pound bottle contains around 112 individual tablets. Since actual tab weights do vary and the bottle is filled by weight, it could be a little above or below that number.

5 lb. 1 in. Stabilized Chlorinator Tablets is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall, a good purchase. Until this year, I always had a diatomaceous earth filter and used granular chlorine. I have a new pool with a less powerful filter and although these tabs seem to work as well they do seem to dissolve and need replacement quickly. This may be a result of the less powerful filter motor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1 inch diameter tablets are .55 ounces Before I came here to do review I found that the instructions on the package neglected to detail what the average weight of a 1 inch diameter tablet is, despite give dosing instructions in ounces. So I weighed out approximately 50 individual tablets on an Acculab 3000 digital lab scale... I consistently got .55 ounces (16 grams) per tablet... I came here to pass along that info, since I bought the product at Home Depot. When I came to the product description, I noticed the manufacturer has answered a customer question regarding number of tablets per container... They list the individual tablet weight as "approximately .7 ounces or 20 grams"... Curious about the discrepancy, I dug out another Acculab 3000 scale and an Ozeri digital food scale and repeated the weight test... With identical results. I don't know why the manufacturer neglected to include tablet weight information on the package label instead of leaving it to the consumer to figure out, look up or guess at, nor why there is difference between their weight figures and mine. I intend to use a middle figure between mine and theirs to calculate the dosage for my pool, just in case. Other than that the product seems to deliver the promised results, as well as including a chlorine stabilizer in the formula... At least one other company's similar product sold at a different major DYI center, has the chlorine stabilizer as a separate product requiring you to purchase two products for basic small pool maintenance. So in that regard this product is a better buy and more convenient.
