how fast does the ph up work? minutes, hours?

To expand on Pool Time Support's question, I'm going to tell you something neither he/she nor Home Depot wants you to know. If your Total Alkalinity is low buy baking soda. Despite the fancy ingredient name on the Pool Time bucket, it is chemically the SAME thing. You can buy baking soda for about 1/2 the price at your local $1 store. I just found this info put myself. And if you live in a state which doesn't tax food, you don't pay sales tax on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works effectively! The PH level of your pool water must be within range for the chlorine and algaecide to work correctly. If the PH is too high or low you'll be using far more chemicals than necessary and wasting money. I purchased more of PH UP at Home Depot for exactly half of what my local pool store sells it for. Learned my lesson, buy at Depot!
