I notice the box says shock and algaecide step. Does this mean I DON"t need to add algaecide if I move up to this product?

Asked by: Will
This is the first year I have used this product but I love it! I use it along with the tablets. I have had a algae free pool all summer! I didn't use anything else. I have had a pool 25 years and this is the first year it has stayed clear all season even using those expensive products.. I give it 2 thumbs up!

how long does the chemical last in the sun in water?

i have a easy set up pool which i put this chemical in the pool is about 5500 gallons and needed to know how long the chemical would last in the sun, so i know when to redo it
Asked by: Jassy
Its best to Shock a pool, either early in the morning or late evening so the heat of sun doesn't affect as much... This particular product indicates a yield of 12k gal per package for normal shock. If you are doing a routine SHOCK only .5 a package is required. How long it lasts? Its SHOCK not chlorine.... multiple factors i.e. the chemical balance, swimmer use, filtration etc....will play a role in shock frequency too

We keep our pool at 88 degrees and keeping the possible problems at bay can be a challenge. I have used this product for a number of years and am very happy. I also use their MAX chlorine product in conjunction. These products are bit more expensive but, they are worth it.
