I put this on several doors but ran into problems on every door that was painted. The vinyl strip will stick to the paint and eventually pull pieces of it off your door. It is especially bad if your door gets a lot of sun. It is not a matter of paint being dry enough. One of the doors I installed it on had been painted 6 months prior and as soon as warm weather hit the vinyl started sticking.
Unfortunately, Home Depot or Lowes does not sell a good door weatherstriping product. The best solution I've found is to make my own by ripping a kerf into door stop molding (like shown in this product) and using weather strip # 91868 which does not soften and stick to the paint. HD does sell a product like this (Model # WV21H) for garage doors but at 3" wide its too big for most doors and too expensive.

I didn't find that the rubber seal stuck to my painted doors
and while the instructions are certainly minimal, if you've ever installed any doorstop, this stuff is a no-brainer. It stops drafts around door edges (but obviously not under the door) and looks nice.

I don't know yet how this will work, but this came with extremely minimalist directions, and there is nothing on the entire internet showing a photo of how it should look!
