Customer Reviews

Primed Doorstop Set is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap and not very effective I installed very carefully on the front door of an older house, including coping the corners to follow the curved profile, and neatly trimming all the rubber to provide a continuous seal. I found that it sealed adequately on the top. The hinge side tends to catch and pull the rubber from the MDF stop, although some epoxy is holding for now. The latch side has several issues and major leaks. First, the strip is not flexible enough to seal well against doors with any surface imperfections or warping, and of course, those are more likely on the latch side. It also cannot accommodate larger gaps, so in spite of carefully aligning to make good contact with the door, there is not enough flex in the strip to shift in and out along the height of the door. This is a single-install product, as the MDF will split with even minor efforts to pry it off or remove nails, and moisture from the caulk soaks right in. Finally, it is only an air seal, with no insulation. I suggest a clad foam tape, rather than this mere vinyl strip is a superior product for many applications, although it is more conspicuous.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Save your money I bought this product for my entry door from my garage. The quality if pretty good. The install was pretty easy. I cut the length to what I needed and copped the corners. Used a small amount of sealant and used a nail gun. The reason I gave this 2 stars is because the plastic seal is terrible. It doesn't have a lot of give like the wrapped foam style doorstop sets. When installing, I had to push the piece tight against my door to make a good seal. Now it is hard to close the door. If I installed it loose enough to make the door close normally, there would still be gaps. Save your money and buy the wrapped foam version.
