Answer:
Yes and no, it only takes a little every once in a while. Just do not overdo it or you will have a mess from the exhaust port.

0 Degree Mini Impact Palm Nailer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't let it's size fool you This nailer is small, but has the power to drive 16d Common nails. Being small, you can get it into tight spots to drive nails. I own other Porter Cable air tools and they are quality tools. A little oil each day and they last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packs a punch! We were hesitant to buy this because we thought it may be under powered... It works great for teco nails in joist hangers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and it gets the job done I own the Craftsman Nextec 12vt Auto Hammer but I wanted something with more power for larger nails. This Porter Cable Mini Impact Nailer works very well with all nails 10D and smaller. The heads on 16D nails won't fit in the nose. The tool is very light but it packs a punch. Although not shown on the HD website my tool came with a swivel air hose connection, nice addition. Set your compressor between 80-100 psi, insert the nail in the magnetic nose, place over the work piece and press down. The tool starts automatically and stops when the nail is fully driven. Also, the forward facing exhaust prevents air from blowing back into the users face. This is one of those tools you really don't appreciate until you need it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Porter Cable Palm Nailer I purchased this product specifically to drive some long roofing nails that had to be put in behind some flashing. It says all nail types, but the large head of a roofing nail is too large to activate the hammering mechanism. I've kept it and it has come in handy several other times using normal common nails. Easy to use and control. Almost too small to comfortably control while driving larger nails. First had some issues with it hooked it up to air and only leaked air. Disconnected from air and gave it a little shake and valve seated and worked correctly ever since. I believe this tool is good for occasional use but I think would have trouble keeping up with heavy use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but... This product seems fine however it should be mentioned it does not fit 16D nails which in my opinion should be a MINIMUM. the nail does not fit in the nailer. The head is too wide. I bought the 16D from HD as well if that helps. Also if the product leaks when you open it it prob is not broke just push it on a piece of wood or try to use. It should seat and work after that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very handy addition to my collection of nailers Nail guns are great but when you get into a tight spot you can't beat one of these palm nailers. This porter cable palm nailer is very well made and should last for a very long time. You won't be disappointed with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome palm nailer I must admit I am very pleasantly surprised. It isn't often a product exceeds my expectations, but this one has. It is small and light, easy to use, and has no problem driving a 3.5" framing nail. I just built a large deck expansion, and I used this to drive hundreds of galvanized framing nails, and it worked flawlessly. I do wish the magnet that holds the nails was a little bit more powerful, but I can't even knock it down a star for that.
