Bought the nailer for MDF crown moulding, it works great, fire into the stud, holds really well. I also tried for Rigid finish brad nailer, holds well but left a big hole to repair and painting. So far fired about 500 without jam, seems build really solid, will highly recommend this product. PS I think I will try for polyurethane crown moulding next week and let u know how it turn out.

This is a nice, solid nailer that has several advantages over the industry leader, Grex. The advantages can be summed up as follows:
1) 130 pin capacity allows reloading pins before the magazine is empty. Grex holds only 100 pins so it must be emptied prior to refilling.
2) No oiling is necessary - Grex has to be oiled.
3) Porter cable includes a dry-fire lockout, letting you know that the magazine is empty. With the Grex you can continue firing forever with no indication that Grex is empty.
4) Porter Cable includes a 3 year warranty, Grex, 1.
5) The Porter Cable is about half the price of the Grex.
What more do you need to know? So far I have fired pins from 1/2 inch to 1 inch into hardwoods (oak and maple) and each and every time the "heads" end up nicely recessed just below the surface. I haven't had to exceed 90 psi and haven't experienced any misfires or jams. Note that the specs state that the nail size range is 5/8 to 1-3/8, but I have had no issues using Porter Cable 1/2 in pins. The pinner is also very light and comfortable to work with. I haven't a single complaint. The only caveat is that since I have had this for only a month, I can't comment on longevity, but at least they offer a 3 year warranty.

I reviewed several Pin Nailers and this one had the best reviews and the most flexibility. It's listed as using 5/8" to 1-3/8" pins, but it will also work with 1/2" pins. Plus it can also use headed pins. I'm quite satisfied with this Pin Nailer.

I make a lot of picture frames for my own artwork and for the last ten years have used a PC brad nailer and wood glue to hold them together. I wanted to try the pin nailer since it makes a smaller hole in the wood. So far I am pleased with this nailer though I have not yet used the 1 3/8-inch pins yet. I've used the shorter pins on both poplar and red oak and they recess well. One of the things I am pleased about is not having to use oil with this nailer. And I think it's a great value when compared to other name brands. There are cheaper pin nailers out there but I wanted one I could depend on and could get parts for.

Purchased in Stafford, VA.. It is a very nice pinner. I make Military Flag Cases and the regular brad gun leaves the large holes and when you fill they are very noticeable. The pinner well they still leave holes but not quite as noticeable. You can still see them so they are not invisible like Porter Cable makes them out to be. It is a very good gun at this time. I have made two cases since the purchase and so far it has work very well. I have 6 more to do so hopefully it will keep functioning the way it has and is suppose to. I use the 1 inch pin nails at this time that is all I can find at Home Depot and the surrounding home centers where I live. I could really use the 1 3/8 inch pin nails so I wish Home Depot would carry them also. Other than that if you hook up the compressor for the right air according to the supplied instructions and attach a filter on it to make sure no dampness gets in the gun I see no future problems and yes I would recommend it to others. It is like any thing else know your tool take care of your tool and it should work well for a very long time.

Bought this pinner a couple days ago and used it yesterday on a small job on some oak molding. Easy to use, set up and operate. Very quiet and worked great with my little portable compressor. Well worth the money. Looked at some cheaper models but they don't even come close to this in value and quality. As my daughter keeps telling me, "You get what you pay for Dad". Also had to look real close to see where the nail hole was, and then it was tough to find. Recommend this to any one.

I have other porter cables nailers and they have held up for years. Excited to add this one to my collection. I've already used to install some wall frames / wainscotting in my family room. I was tossing up a brad vs pin nailer. Glad I went with a pin nailer.
