What type of warranty does this gun have? And is the warranty through Home Depot? Or would I have take it some where els

Asked by: antonio
Hi antonio, for your convenience I have linked below the PDF file to our manufacturer's limited warranty that we have also provided online with the other assorted manufacturer files which can be found in the box labeled 'Info & Guides' to the right of the 'Product Overview' section of the product page. Also, listed warranties can be found in the product 'Specifications' section on the row underneath 'Warranty/Certifications'. The file provided includes additional information regarding the product's listed 3 year warranty. The warranty is covered through the manufacturer, not The Home Depot. Hopefully, reviewing the file will be beneficial and help your shopping experience. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

I have read a few reviews of people who have had bad luck, and several who sing the praises of this nailer; I am in the second camp... if you oil it, use the right pressure, adjust the depth control on the gun and set the platform position correctly, this gun runs like a champ......

Rated 5 out of 5 by from reasoning behind jam's i have all porter cable air tool. I have an older P.C. coil nailer and called for a repair kit ( $75.- ) is a lot compared to bostiches I've fixed for other friend's which was cheaper ( $ 25.- ) . but as far as a roofng gun , people don't think to use " kerosene " to keep the outlet port where nails come out , clean. because " Tar " from the shingle's builds up on the ejecter . that " Tar " will eventually build up and jam that ejecter. as for nails jamming you are not using it correct. ask me about nails jamming. I do not have this problem because coil is set in right. REMEMBER : USE THE OIL AND USE KEROSENE TO KEEP EJECTER CLEAN.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy This This nailer is worthless. I have 4 other porter-cable pieces of equipment and love them, this one is just going to jam on you and then you will return it just like all the other people who's review I did not read until after the fact. Mine jammed on the first coil of nails and I could not clear the jam. Tried for 30 minutes before I gave up and took it back to the store. I then went to exchange it for the exact same nailer and then stumbled upon all these reviews where others had the same experience. There is clearly a design flaw here. Unless of course you really want to stop your project, go inside and drink beer. If that is the case, this tool is for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Jamming issues... When it's working it's amazing. Great time saver and very easy to reload nails. Sets nails perfectly. When the roofing nailer jams thorough its totally worthless. And it does occasionally jam, and for no rhyme or reason it seems to jam. There are no instructions that come with the tool as to how to clear the nail jam in the nailer - so you wind up bringing it back to Home Depot and they give you a new one - which you take home and it works fine for a few days, and then that roofing nailer jams like the first one. So for just a small house roofing job it took me three roofing nailers to complete the job, and three trips back to Home Depot - which because of that I wouldn't recommend this roofing nailer. Note: I own several other Porter-Cable tools and they all work great, and have for many years - except the roofing nailer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good. Bought this for the single reason that it has a trigger selectable for single-shot nailing. I'm a novice, working with shingles that have a VERY narrow nail line, so I didn't want to bounce nail at all. So far, with around 4 square of shingles nailed (28 square still to go...sigh!), it's working pretty flawlessly. I've had no problems with it jamming; only the occasional miss-fire; and I actually like the way the last nail on a coil drops out of it to let you know you're out of nails. Even the nailing consistency is pretty good. Not perfect, but pretty good. Since I'm only EVER going to be doing the one roof (turn out that roofing is really hard work in summer heat) I didn't need something super expensive, and I don't really care if it holds up in the long-term or not. Just so long as it gets me through this job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice air gun for the price This roofing nailer works just as good as any I've used. Maybe not quite as good as a Hitachi, but no where near the price either. I've had mine for 3 years and it works like day 1 still.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's not a value if it doesn't work Out of the box every third nail only partially advanced, bent the head and jamed the piston. I had to get down and get tools to clear the jam. I had an earlier version of this gun and it was fine. Never jamed. I took this new one back. I suspected trouble when I opened the box and noticed it was painted argent to look like aluminum. I tried lubing every moving part but no joy.
