multiple issues with gun, hammer hits wood project, poor adjustments, loading issues, jamming issues and it jams alot. thought this would be a great gun since porter cable is a name brand, but i wish i never told my wife to buy this for me as a gift, should have bought a nother brand....I have only used the gun 3 times on small projects and it was difficult, now i cant even use it at all since some internal seals and stuff are broken and the hammer no longer will hammer a nail into the wood. I would not recommend this. I have tens of thousands of dollars of work to do on our new home and all came to a halt since i cant use my new gun.

It's worked great for me. Only gone through couple hundred nails so far but no jams or any issues like the other reviewers are reporting. I've been sure to put in 5-6 drops of oil every time I use it (as instructed in the manual) and it's worked like a charm. I'm not a pro though so perhaps it doesn't hold up to that level of use, but for a weekend warrior like me, faster than a hammer. I set the review value to 'Fair' b/c I think it's a bit overpriced. I bought a combo deal from HD which was an air compressor (C2002) AND this gun for only $180, the gun was basically a free add-on so can't complain!

O rings and head parts are made out of some poly that breaks down after a year or so. Had 3 porter cable nailers. Won't buy anymore. Good luck. Tom in La.

Have used nailer on various projects - ran hundreds of nails. No problems jamming at all. Maybe other reviewers have a defective unit or need adjustment. Also have not had it mar the wood in any way. Has been a great tool for me and at a low cost buy in for my first nailer.

This nailgun is junk. Tried using it to secure a few pieces of 3/4 inch flooring around a wall and stairs. Also tried to use it for trim and it jams about every other nail. I would have been better off pounding in nails with my hand than using this terrible tool.

This thing is solid and feels pretty beefy. The pneumatics are great. The problem is that the tolerances are very poor on the loading mechanism. The thing jams all the time. There is not nearly enough adjustment for depth either. The depth adjuster simply moves the gun closer or farther from the workpiece, but doesn't change the depth that the hammer moves. There is also not a good enough range of adjustment; you can't adjust it shallow enough so that the hammer doesn't punch your project. You end up having to make pressure adjustments with the regulator on your compressor to lighten the hammerstrike so that it just barely has enough power to seat the nail. Then you run into the issue of the tip of the gun being rounded and any change at all in angle will affect your nail depth, leading to inconsistency. This thing works fine if you are doing a garage project, or working on some part that won't be seen... but it is definitely not for finishwork. You'd think that a finish nailer would be a bit higher quality. I am thoroughly disappointed. My Craftsman brad nailer was cheaper and lightyears ahead in quality and adjustment. It never jammed and was totally solid. The only problem is that it's 2800miles away right now.
