Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greg What a gun!
I just framed a 20' x 40' workshop with this gun and WOW! This thing is powerful, easy to use, durable and accurate. I've dropped it, covered it in mud, wedged it in between joists and generally abused it and it just takes the abuse and asks for more. I can toenail with it, line it up to drive nails into brackets, speed nail, etc. I recommend removing the plastic tip, you don't need it. The hook on the back of the gun is really useful as well. I use it to lower the gun down and hook it to my ladder or I'll hook it to my pants when climbing up on something. The safety can be used with one hand, and the depth adjustment works well also.

I bought my first one over 20 yrs ago and it finally died on me. I am only a weekend warrior but have built a lot of decks and other projects over the years. This new one has all the power I will ever need. For the money I am happy with the PC brand tòols.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Outstanding quality
The Porter Cable Framing Nail Gun was a good value and is an excellent product. First, the no-mar nylon foot slides right off to reveal barbs that help to hold the gun in place when toe-nailing framing projects. Second, a few drops of included oil in the air inlet is all it takes to complete preventive maintenance on the tool. The case keeps all the components together in one place.
At just over 100 3" nails so far and not one jam or mis-fire. I have other Porter Cable nail guns that I have been so impressed with and plenty of framing to do on my remodel. I might even build my own shop with this gun to make the most of it!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hawkeye this thing is awesome
so i am converting the walk up attic in my Cape Cod style house into a 2nd floor. Bought this to do the framing with. its awesome, hands down. ive used a few other brands but there is a few things i liked about it:
1- changeable directed exhaust feature. no more blow back in the face
2- nail depth of drive is easy to change on the fly.
3- ive run about 1200 nails through it. 1 jam and that was a defect in the nail clips spacing. not once did it try to shoot more than 1 nail per trigger pull.

Not an everyday tool for me but like that it uses up to 3 1/2 inch nails when the rest of them at HD only use 3 1/4 inch. For the project I was on that made a big difference. Most of the time I suppose the others would suffice. The Porter Cable saved the day on my project though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rich Even though I have two framing nailers, I could not pass up the deal on this one. Home Depot and Porter Cable nailed it.
Great quality nailer at a fantastic price. Just remember to turn the exhaust port on the top of the nailer so it doesn't hit you in the face when leaning over the nailer. I'm very happy with it . It appears to be as good of quality as my more expensive Hitachi and better than my Cambell Hausfeld. It uses the plastic sleeved nails and sometimes leaves plastic pieces under the nail head. This can be a problem if the nails are exposed like the top of a deck but otherwise perfect so far. Most of the plastic pieces are easily brushed away. Every now and then I would have to pull a plastic piece out from under the nail head. This is nit picking and not a problem for framing.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SpinkFence Solid nail gun
I bought this for my company use and it's very solid. The only problem I have is the higher price for the nails the gun uses. The upfront savings will definitely be lost due to the cost of the plastic-collated nail strips.
