Customer Questions & Answers

How many desimals does it run at and can it be used with a paint spraying gun

Asked by: Bryan
Being a compressor, it is pretty loud. Though, I don't know how many decibels. Yes, you can use it as a spray gun. I spray lacquer often from mine. And it works great

Sequential or bump trigger

Do the guns have a bump trigger (impact) or are the strictly sequential ? Do you think the bump trigger is a must , even for the do it yourselfer?
Asked by: Michael
Sequential. Bump trigger is nice if your doing deck or roof sheathing. Unless you have experience and precision with a bump trigger you can get a little ahead of yourself and end up with nails that you will be pulling out and repairing wood....

Where do you put the oil on the guns?

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: GE
The oil goes into the air intake right where you hook you air hose up to the quick connect. If you haven't done that yet next use just put like 3 drops in there before hooking the air hose up. That gets lubrication to the piston and driver and will keep from sticking and or rusting from moisture that the compressor sucks in. Make it a habit that each time your finished using one of your air guns put 3 drops of oil in them. that applies with all air tools. but don't overdue it or you can end up with oil marks on your material.

Can I store compressor in garage? No air conditioning. At some times of the year, temperature exceeds 105 degrees.

If I store in garage, any safety suggestions?
Asked by: ClampQuestion
Yes your compressor can be stored in garage. Temperatures of 105 or even higher won't hurt it. If your storing it for a period of time open the valve on bottom of tank to let out any water that may have collected through use in humid conditions. I often drag mine out in the field to job sites and it sits on the tailgate of my truck in the s.w. florida sun and temps rise well above 110. So your garage is a safe bet.

Is this compressor oil free?

The compressor is but the nailers are NOT. You should add just 2 drops of the special nailer oil home depot sells to the nailer(s) whenever you use them.

6 Gal. Portable Air Compressor, 16-Gauge Nailer, 18-Gauge Brad Nailer Crown Stapler Combo Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 316.

I have had this set for over 4 years now. Used it in all my house projects and have lent it out to many friends and family. Compressor: The compressor has been reliable. I have had to replace the drain valve once after 4 years which was only a couple dollar fix. Be sure to drain this out frequently to keep rust and other debris from building up in the drain port and to keep it functioning properly. That being said, it still worked great without draining for over 2 years :) The hose is kind of cheap and doesn't work well in cold weather, easily replaced with your own though. Air Guns: These are great beginner or craft project guns. Mine are still in great shape, but if you are doing contracting you may want to choose some heavier duty options. Straightforward. It is nice it comes with some brads, staples and nails with the kit so you don't have to buy them immediately for small projects.

Compressor is loud while it's building up pressure, but then auto shuts off once it hits its peak (few minutes). Unit uses a 3 prong plug, so be aware of that if working in an older house having only non-grounded two prong outlets. For light jobs, you can simply unplug the fully pressurized unit and move it from room to room without having to plug it in again. Otherwise, the long hose is great for a focused job within a single room. Finish nailer worked perfectly for baseboards. Brad nailer did a great job for face nailing 1/2" hardwood floor slats. Stapler was a breeze for faced insulation rolls. Also used the stapler for hanging Christmas lights over the garage. Nailers are a bit heavy, but feel solid. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, so can't speak to durability, yet. Excellent value for the money.

I have five bedrooms and a dining room in which to lay hardwood and I needed a good nailer/compressor combo that wouldn't break the bank. My wife picked this up for me for Christmas and I've been nothing but happy. Everything you need to get started is in the box...with one exception...air tool oil. Why they didn't throw in a small bottle of air tool oil is beyond me. Make sure you pick that up and you're good to go. There are even sample fasteners in the box. I've had the compressor off and unplugged for a couple of weeks now (in-between rooms) and it hasn't lost more than 1-2 lb of pressure...very impressive! It has more than enough power and has worked great with the included finish nailer (only one I've tried so far).

The instruction manuals could be better, more clearly written, however if you google the model numbers, there is ample information and demonstrations on line. As to the operation of the equipment, I have only used the 16 gauge nail gun and air compressor, but I have found them to be extremely easy to use. The package was well worth the money.

The tank is very portable and what a collection of attachments. My wife moves around with the tank with easy. I would always talk myself out of having this type of equipment; it always seemed lazy and not worth the price. This item eliminated all these factors and now I can't live without it. I strongly recommend.

The 18 Gauge Nailer does have a tendency to jam if used for extended periods. I found that a little WD40 sprayed on the sliding mechanism (open front hatch and spray near area where the nailer push bar enters to piston chamber) helps.
