Customer Questions & Answers

Is this a good device for interior trim work AND constructing custom bookshelving ?

Ex: Baseboard, window frame, door frame, floor-to-ceiling custom shelving, etc
Asked by: homeowner01
Yes. I used a much lower quality compressor to do the same thing, a 100psi, 3 gal unit from Harbor Freight. It did the job, actually three houses of interior trims and two book cases and many other projects. I'd get a little frustrated with waiting for it to build back up enough pressure some times, but I'd multi task. This unit is far superior. Much faster tank fill times and a bigger tank. The 150 psi is good for many other tasks too, like impact wrenches... I still have the harbor freight unit, 8 years old and it still works well, but I LOVE this new 6 gal unit. (The brad nailer works well too...) As far as compressors go, it is reasonably quiet, but don't expect to carry on a conversation while it's running!

can this compressor support a heavy duty framing gun

Asked by: Howieegie
I purchased one of these compressors a few years ago. I liked it for my uses so when it got stolen a while back, I bought another one. I use it for texturing, almost any carpentry work where two inch nails or shorter are used and any other time I need air. I have built many out buildings, residential remodels, even a couple of forts and tree houses. I have used my framing gun whoile some one else was using a pin tacker and never waited for air, but the compressor worked all day. It will support a single framing gun depending on your speed when working. find the lowest pressure you can still drive 16d.

6 Gal. Portable Electric Air Compressor and 18-Gauge Brad Nailer Combo Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 96.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable compressor and very capable brad nailer. I bought the compressor to run a narrow crown stapler that I already had. My project is on a ranch and what I am working on has to be powered by a gas generator. My 2000W generator ran this compressor with no problem, the big surprise is what this brad nailer was capable of doing with 2" brad nails, the compressor and nailer ran flawlessly for about eight hours a day for three days and I drove more than 10,000 2" brads with no problems, the little nailer that was just part of the package literally saved my trip, when the old crown stapler non porter cable quit. I now want all of the other Porter Cable nailers and staplers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great compressor! I bought this kit about 3 years ago. I've used it to do a bunch of trim work in the house and it has helped build shelves. This comprossor is great, I haven't had any problems with it. It was always provided a lot of power. It is a bit loud because it is an oiless compressor, but I think this is a great deal for the price. If you don't have a comprosser, does it ever make the job easier! My father was doing a bunch of trimwork without one, I convinced him to buy this kit as well and he couldn't be any happier!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For blowing out inground sprinkler system I was looking for an inexpensive compressor to blow out my in ground sprinkler system for the winter shutdown. This in not one of the monster ones the installer uses but I found that this compressor could blow out my system one zone at a time. The installer was doing three zones at a time. This one cost less than the price the installer charged me to do one fall shutdown, so it paid for itself on the first usage. It did not damage any of my plumbing (the install did blow out a section of pipe one year when he did the fall blowout). Given that I will probably only use it once a year and it has already paid for itself. This one is a winner for me. Hopefully this review is useful to you!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Compressor I have owned this compressor for a good six years and it lasted right up to a week ago. It was always a good reliable unit and it was used with a brad nailer for trim and with a stanley flooring nailer. Even though this compressor burned out I still think it was a good unit. I don't think that these type of things are the kind of tools that last forever due to the oilless motor but for the $229 including a nailer and all the other parts I don't think you can get much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I needed a compact oilless compressor for the pneumatic can crusher I made and general use if I need and this fit the bill and was on sale also. One recommendation is to tighten the fittings on the tank and the air hose connection fittings prior to using. A little prevention just in case.... It works great and no issues!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawless Should have bought this 20 years ago. This product worked flawlessly putting down shoe molding. Saved me 2 hours. Not one misfire or bent nail. Quality product all around.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My Christmas Present Read the Instructions and removed the Compressor from the box and set it on my work bench. Looked it over and noticed the hose from the plastic housing to the regulator goes upward and turns back down making a 180 degree bend and is kinked. This doesn't match the diagram. I have been a pipefitter for 30 years and know what can happen to a compresser when the air has no place to go. The closest Home Depot is 30km from my home and now I will have to making it a 60km trip
