Bought this chainsaw for dropping and bucking up some dead trees on my property. I did not just jump into this purchase. I researched for a couple of weekends and decided this saw was the best for my needs. I was not in need for a expensive high end commercial saw, but didn’t want a cheap one season saw either. Poulan has a good reputation for quality home use products. I was leaning towards the PRO series, but for the extra money and my personal needs, this saw was just right. It comes fully assembled and complete with everything needed to start cutting right away, just add gas. It has awesome power, well balanced and is relatively light for its size. I was concerned about reviews stating it was hard to start, and even the directions have a long process to fire it up. But mine cranked up after three pulls and I was dropping trees like a pro. I highly recommend this chainsaw for the weekend warrior. Poulan has never let me down yet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Blueturtle Good saw for the money
Owned my Poulan Pro since 1999. Still going. Have had to use several times due to ice storms. Have cut up some fairly large limbs. Also have taken down some fair sized trees due to them dying. Plenty of power for my needs. Sometimes wish I had an 18" for stumps, but have managed with this 16". Biggest issue is that I feel I have to tighten the chain too often. Go through chains quickly, but not the saws fault. I am hard on chains and the saw. The saw puts up with it. Have had no starting problems, even after it has sat for months. Will probably buy another Poulan but an 18 or 20"

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Katysplace Pretty happy with my chainsaw
I usally use an electric chainsaw, since I am a female and witnessed the trouble my roommate (male) always had starting his gas saw, but I wanted a gas saw so I read the reviews on this one and thought I'd try it. Pretty happy with it so far. Started fairly easily and each time I'd turn it off it would start up for me again without a lot of work. I realize my pull is not as strong as a mans but overall I got a lot of use out of it the two times I've used it with no complaints. It's not real heavy either. Practice makes perfect.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Robingdh quality AND value!!!
I purchased this chain saw as a gift - its intended use is for small jobs of cutting small trees, tree limbs and such around my home. The day it arrived, one of my neighbors large trees split due to a bad storm. This saw (and the accessories) came in VERY handy, and did a terrific job of cutting up the large limbs. It's one tough chain saw!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Robert A great mid sized chain saw
This 16 inch chain saw was extremely easy to put into operation, very simple to use and performs well of the jobs I've completed since its arrival. This is my second Poulan chain saw (First one was in 1981). This order was a complete package: saw, carrying case (very practical), 2 cycle oil, and chain oil. Good quality, easy use and great value,

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kandinanner Great chainsaw - carry case is kind of cheap
Great chainsaw - carry case is kind of cheap. There is a hollow spot in the carry case and if it gets pushed on it dents in really easily. Ours was dented during shipping. But the chainsaw and all the accessories it came with were definitely worth the price of it. I would recommend this chainsaw.

Well-made chainsaw with case, chain oil, first bottle of oil to mix with gas, and tools included. Started easily, cuts like a knife through butter. Well, almost. Good safety features for inexperienced users (kickback handle, chain does not engage until you're ready).
