Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill635 It has the features of more expensive tillers
This is the best tiller I reviewed for the money. It starts on the first pull and runs very smooth. Other tillers of like quality would have cost several dollars more. Home Depot gave me the best for less money.

First, the container looked like it had been assembled by a three year old. It was more or less just some box taped around the tiller.
Second, there was an 8" hole on one side and a 3" hole on the other side. And a big oil stain on the box. I thought for sure it had been damaged during shipping.
I got it out put it together, put oil in it and started it up. It started on the second pull but billowed black smoke and stopped in about 30 seconds. After I looked at the tiller for a second I saw a big puddle of oil on the ground and oil pouring out of the air cleaner.
it may be a good tiller, I'm considering giving the same one another try but this one was a disaster!!!!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tillerless This product was delivered with a non-functioning transmission.
Ordering/shipping went fine. Assembly was straightforward. Engine started and ran fine. However, tines did not rotate when clutch was engaged. This was confirmed on-site by a local Home Depot technician. I returned the unit to the local Home Depot, but then the online help desk advised that the item was on serious back-order. The local Home Depot was very helpful in loaning me a rental tiller at no charge for a day and a half. I really needed to get the seedlings in the ground and that helped a great deal. I am reluctant to order a new Poulan product, and cannot recommend it.

The tiller started right up out of box after little assembly and gas.Shortly after use the forward control bolt became lost.I replaced and rotated control so that squeeze from bottom instead of top with thumb and relieved hand stress. The tiller dug right in and did a great job.The wheel assembly is really cheaply made as after the second time I used tiller the supports gave way.Have since bolted wheel supports together. The reverse does not work well in tilled ground. After modifications sems to be a great machine.Would not recommend for first time tilling of hard ground.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Chuck Check it before you use it
On first use of this tiller the belt jumped off every few feet until I took the cover off and moved the pulley to align it with the rear pulley. That was aggravating enough and when I got that problem fixed I thought I was on a roll then I happen to notice that the motor was about to fall off. Two of the four bolts were gone (fallen off) and the remaining two bolts were ready to fall out. No lock washers. Went to Home Depot and got more bolts and washers and made sure all was tight and the second use went pretty good.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DenverTerry This tiller is a beast!
I purchased this tiller to start a garden at my house and to share with my Dad to till up his garden.
I took less than 15 minutes to put together when it arrived and after fueling it up and checking the oil it started on the first pull.
This tiller had absolutely no problem tearing through grass, tree roots, my sprinkler line (oops!) and making the best growing bed one could imagine on the first pass. My Dad said it was the best tiller he's ever used and he's been gardening for a long time. I couldn't be happier with this product.

This is actually a pretty good tiller. The soil in our garden hadn't been turned in 2 years and this little tiller did a great job of breaking up the old clay and mixing in the amendments. The only thing that kept it from being excellent was that it isn't super heavy so it takes a bit of horsing to get it "into" the ground. Once it has gotten a foothold it will churn all day. 8hp engine has plenty of power to make quick work of even hard packed dry soil. I wish that there was a throttle control cable by the handle (there is a hole for one) but the setting is actually on the engine itself. You need to set the speed there then start tilling, if the speed isn't right you have to stop and increase or decrease the throttle setting. I'll probably just add the cable since there is a space for it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by slimer12 poulan pro 900 series tiller
I am a home owner who uses this thing 2-4 times a year. First off, after i got it noticed air line was broken to the OHV connection but worked 1st year. Used it about 4 days for 6 hours combined worked okay, not the best but worked. 2nd year (2014) break it out and go to use it, will not start. Almost started but would not fire up then no more attempts to start after 100 pulls. Called Poulan they refer me to a service place, call them they say if it had any fuel in it from last year the tank has to drained along with carb and then try again... I have a lawn mover that spent a yr in Connecticut out side all year before i got it that has not failed me in 6 years and a Homelite weedeater that has been running for almost 12 years without fail. So you are telling me a garage kept tiller with very little fuel wont start and that fuel is bad after 30 days in the tank? i beg to differ. Not happy about this products performance at all. Would not recommend currently till i get a product i can use consistently my 1-4 times a year.
