Answer:
The unit provides 1100 watts, and has 2 AC outlets, as long as your computer is less than 1100 watts you should be fine. The unit does not store any energy it only converts it from 12 volt to 110 volts. How long it lasts will depend on your battery setup and recharging capabilities.

Answer:
The inverter does not store any energy and should never be connected to a wall outlet. It must be connected to a 12 volt battery to operate. There are numerous ways to recharge 12 volt batteries.

Can I use it for my sump pump?

This question is from 12 Volt DC to AC 1100-Watt Power Inverter

I need a back up for Sump Pumps during power outages at several properties. I was thinking of a deep cell battery in the basement and connecting the Inverter to the battery. If a power failure happens, the tenant is instructed to plug the sump pump into the Inverter. I realize I can purchase a Sump Pump back up kit or a gas generator, however this seems to solve the issue. I would purchase 3 Inverters and perhaps a stronger model. This is not a money issue so I would appreciate your recommendation. Am I wrong? Please advise.

Answer:
We would need more information about your sump pump to recommend the appropriate inverter such as wattage or amperage, input voltage etc. Please call us at 866.295.6775 9am - 5pm EST. A pump would have a high startup surge effectively doubling (or more) the rated wattage on the pump. The PW1100-12 would probably be too small for this application.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by real good product works very good will buy another one later may a bigger one April 5, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by incomplete rated for 1100 watts. Works fine at approx 500 watts. I haven't put it through it's paces yet. The battery cables are too short. The instructions say to install a switch on the positive connection to the battery and to ground the unit to the chassis of the vehicle. If that was to be done the switch and the grounding cable and clamp should have been included. They weren't. And it wasn't an oversight because the packaging list did not list them. At $80 (before tax) the price seemed good until I found a 2000 watt inverter at Harbor Freight for only 25% more money. June 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by fills a niche perfectly between economy and high performance Purchased to use small home appliances while camping. So, far have used 1500 watt blender. The wattage gauge tells you exactly what it is doing. Making a fruit smoothie without ice, it fluctuates predictably between 700 and 900 watts. The fluctuation and only one group 24, 550 amp hour battery caused me to have to run the engine to prevent low voltage shut off. Not a problem with something that only takes a couple minutes. Have plans for 1000 watt hot plate or 450 watt rice cooker but have not tried yet. Suspect might need 2nd battery in many situations. However, forget and leave it on with no load on it, it only uses a tenth of a volt all day. February 25, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value So far I've not had this long enough to tell how it will last in the long run, nor have a tested the efficiency vs. others, since this is the only inverter I have, but I did test it with different load while hooked up to a deep cycle battery, and it performed as expected. I think the price is right and the built quality of the unit that I got seems to be good. It's not super light, but I don't expect it to be. So far I'm happy with this inverter and I think it provides good value. February 18, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great features, but defective product received. I purchased this product because of the advertised specs. The 1100 / 2200 watt power ratings met my requirements and the addition of the Voltage and Wattage meters were perfect. I also liked the idea of the external fuses. The only problem was that the unit I received was defective. I initially noticed that the meters were not accurate. I then began to notice other problems with the unit. This is when I decided to return it to the store and exchange for another one. February 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product This power inverter was the best thing we could have when camping,it was easy to use and worked excellent. August 26, 2014
