Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Handy gadget! The inverter is small enough to pack and store easily. 12v power can be gotten through a car's lighter/power socket or from battery clamps. A handy USB charging port is always on when the inverter is connected to power. September 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice little charing device I would have liked to have given this product a 5-star rating since it worked well for our situation and, due to its small size and light weight, was easy to carry along on our vacation. However, I’m giving it only 4 stars for the following reasons: (1) The USB port was so loose on the first unit I received, the cords kept falling out. I got a replacement unit only to find a similar problem with the AC plug. Since I did not have time to replace the unit again, I manually spread out the prongs on my electrical cords before plugging them into the unit. Not a great solution, but the only option given my time constraints. (2) The unit is described as having an “airplane connector.” Since purchasing this product, I’ve flown on 7 planes with 3 different airlines and never saw an outlet compatible with this adapter. As such, the so-called “airplane connector” was useless. This wasn’t a problem for us since, our planes offered alternative power sources (so we didn’t need our adapter). But, if you need an electrical source on airplanes, you might want to look elsewhere. (3) As expected, the unit got hot while in use thereby properly activating the internal cooling fan. This seemed to work well except once, when I accidentally plugged in my cell phone and forgot to turn “on” the inverter. Strangely, the cell phone battery began charging even with the inverter technically “off.” Fortunately, I discovered the situation before any damage occurred (i.e. cooling fan doesn’t work when the inverter is “off”) and, after that, always made sure the unit was in the “on” mode when in use. For our vacation, the Power Bright inverter met our needs. It did a fine job charging our computer, cell phones, batteries, etc. all while driving in our rental car in Australia. In fact, we never had to use the hotel adapter/converter we brought along as a back-up plan. September 27, 2011
