Product Overview

The PowerCare Saw Chain features Centri-Lube oil-ways on all drive links. These oil-ways allow lubrication to flow up through the drive links and to the rivets. This reduces friction, chain stretch and results in fewer adjustments needed to the chain. This chain has hardened, chromed semi chisel cutters that allow it to stay sharper longer and cut faster in dirty cutting conditions, ideal for consumer use.

  • Powercare saw chain has chromed cutters for fast, smooth cutting and low kickback design for safety and durability
  • Chain fits many Craftsman, Echo, Homelite, Makita, McCulloch, Poulan, Ryobi and Shindaiwa chain saw models, please see fit up guide for complete list
  • Underwriter’s laboratories (UL) certified to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards for low kickback safety chai
  • Centri-lube self-lubricating drive links that enhance chain life and reduce stretch
  • Pitch: .325 in. semi-chisel; Gauge: .050 in.; 72 drive links; file size: 3/16 in.
  • Meets UL requirements for ANSI low kickback safety saw chains

Customer Questions & Answers

where is the "See Chain Replacement Guide

there is a reference to a chain replacement guide.... where can I find it?
Asked by: Jim
The package itself has a chain fit guide, but is limited. The saw (Remington5118) I needed this chain for was not included in that guide or the one I located in the store. The owners guide for your saw should include chain information such as: Pitch (.325"), Gauge (.050"), Drive Links (72) & File size(3/16"). This information is on the replacement chain package and is what I used to confirm it as a fit for this Remington. It fit perfectly and cuts good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cant ask for more I work for a tree service full time i run my own company part time I run saws all day every day the difference between this chain and all your name brand stuff is virtually non existent its stays sharp as long as you keep it in the wood and out of the dirt but any chain regardless of brand will dull very quickly if you do that!!! it cracks me up the guys who expect this stuff to survive hitting a steal wedge haha really you give it a neg review because it wont cut steal??? if you homeowners cant keep it out of the dirt they do make special chain that will take that abuse a loop cost about 10-20 time the cost of this stuff though... dont be worried this stuff will not let you down!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't Fit Echo CS-400 So had to replace my old chain after sandy and bought this generic chain. Now when I took the chain out it looked like it wasn't as flimsy as the original echo, but when I put it around the sprockets it seems to be too large. I went forward and tried to let it rip, no dice, it kept on jamming. Figuring it was something wrong I did, I actually looked at the directions, nope. I tried installing the old chain back and the old one worked like a charm. I think the diameter on the blade is too small for this chain, do not buy this for your CS-400, it doesn't fit as advertised.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the right chain for echo cs400 Although the price is right and the quality looks great, this model chain will NOT work with an echo cs-400 period. Like stated already, the chain will not fit in the sprocket correctly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality replacement chain Bought 4 chains at Home Depot, to replace the original, well worn, chain that came on a Homelite I purchased at Home Depot. It cut up 5, 24 in. logs making three cuts per log. The B72 was all they had. I used all 4 chains to cut up one tree. All of the four B27 chains were dull by the time I finished. Found an H72 at another store. Cut down two trees, one 24 in. at base, and cut both of them up using only one chain. The H72 does now needs sharpening, but did the job. Won't buy another B72. They are not worth the cost difference.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ditto. DOES NOT FIT CS-400. The package clearly states that it fits the Echo CS-400, but it does not. CS-400 needs a 62 link chain. This is a 72. IT WILL NOT WORK!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The right chain for an 18" Homelite Timberman saw To save yourself a trip to the 'returns' counter, when buying a replacement saw chain, a couple of bits if information are important - the number of drive links in the chain and the pitch. We removed our old chain and counted the drive links at 72 (which are the links that are hidden inside the chainsaw bar when the chain is fitted) and read the owners manual to figure out the pitch which was .325 on ours. Off to Home Depot where we originally bought our 18" Homelite Timberman saw and bought this as a replacement. I was cleaning the saw anyway so fitting was a breeze although it took me a couple of minutes and an extra pair of hands to figure out how to untangle the new saw chain. All I can say is that even though I've kept the original chain sharp with an electric sharpener, I had forgotten what having a really sharp chain with the correct cutting angle felt like - the new chain cuts through seasoned wood like a hot knife through butter. We also picked up a couple of spare 3/16" sharpening stones for the electric sharpener too.
