Hi, I cannot seem to be able to install these. If I tighten then too much, the wheel will be stuck, and if I let them a bit loose, they come off!

Hi Michman,
Universal, in this instance means that these bolts will fit most mowers. There are exceptions, but if the threads will fit the bolt holes in your mower, these bolts should work.

Hi Michman,

The threaded sleeve is adjustable for the different widths of the wheels. The the nut will lock the sleeve in place, at the correct width needed for your wheel.
Adjust the threaded sleeve so that it is a little wider than the wheel hub and tighten the nut against it. This will maintain a small gap to allow for wheel movement. The gap allows the wheel to rotate without loosening the bolt. Too much gap will allow for wheel wobble, however.
Tighten securely with the wheel installed onto the bolt.

What size nut fits the threaded part? And what is the diameter of the threaded part (what size hole will I need to drill for the bolt end to fit through)?

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Well These will replace a standard axle well. It's actually a pretty slick idea. As someone before me suggested it's best to make the adjustment on the inside before you tighten them up. Hassle free and reasonably priced. I did put a fender washer on each end and that worked well for me also. June 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clever design I thought the "extension sleeve" slid freely, which would not have worked very well at all. Turns out the sleeve is actually threaded, so it holds its position on the bolt. The directions are useless. I extended the sleeve about a 1/16" beyond the inside of the wheel hub, and this seems to work well. You should tighten these by the nut, not the bolt head, or the sleeve will move, causing the wheel to be pinched. July 16, 2014
