(sadly they didn't have instructions in the box) I know I'll be saving $$$ from now till I sell my house. Does make a big temperature change from when it enters to where it exit the pipe to the hot water heater. April 11, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Review of the 48" Power-Pipe After hearing about the Power-Pipe and its benefits, I decided to purchase one at the store. Found that I could only order it online. Being overly cautious, I did and it arrived quickly and painlessly. Although my box didn't come with instructions, I was able to find them on the Power-Pipe website with ease. Installation was for the most part a breeze. Cut out existing pipe, install rubber sleeves, install Power-Pipe and tighten clamps. Tested seals first before connecting cold water lines = OK. The only part I disliked was the 3/4" inlet and outlet copper pipes were bent when manufactured. This caused a problem with the quick connect pieces I used which leaked when installed. I therefore installed a pre-soldered coupler and 6" extension 3/4" straight pipe. This solved the problem. Took some pictures as shown. Before I wrapped the Power-Pipe, I measured the incoming cold water at ~11deg C and the outgoing warmed water at ~21deg C. I was able to hook up both my showers to this one drain and with a 5 person household, I am looking at some good savings and longer hot water usage from my tank. This installation to me is a no brainer & payback should be fast! March 28, 2008
