Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 31 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked Great for Wisconsin Snowstorm We used this snow blower for the first time for a major snowstorm we had in southeast Wisconsin on February 8th 2015. Actually used it 4 times in 48 hours. It wasn't heavy or wet snow, but it worked great even for areas over 12" deep. Our driveway is inclined which is no problem for this self propelled unit. Easy to pull start but the electric start was even better. I had to do some assembly out of the box but it was just the handle and the chute. Oil is separate from gas so no mixing required. We got a really good price for a dependable product. February 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy this snow thrower Do not buy this equipment. Home Depot did a fantastic job delivering the unit to my home in a few days, but the equipment was not up to the service provided. The disappointment started soon. First, the reverse would not work. Perhaps it was a matter of adjustment of the cables, but I would expect a new equipment to work properly. I had barely used the equipment for about 2 hours and the weld that connected the hopper to the crank shaft just broke. This is either a serious design flaw or poor manufacturing. I returned the equipment to a Home Depor store and the manager was very good about taking care of the situation. January 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A real workhorse Much easier to assemble than I thought. Filled it with the proper oil and gas, primed and 2 pulls for a roaring start. Was hoping against hope I wouldn't have to use it, but we had an extremely heavy wet snow a few weeks after I bought it. Not only did it cut right through it, but I also had to use it on a drive and parking lot at a rental. Even after it got rope, plastic bags and some netting (all hidden under the snow) wrapped up in the auger it still kept going. I didn't even know until I was finished that I had a tangled mess that had to be cut out. I'm very pleased with my purchase. January 13, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by easy assembly, poor craftmanship Opened the box, assembled the machine in 20 minutes. 1st snowstorm, worked great for 80% of my driveway. On the end of the snow chute is a deflector which is fastened onto the chute by 2 screws and 3 spot welds onto the deflector. The spot welds broke causing the deflector to fall off and have snow blow straight into the air, not able to be directed without the deflector. Called customer service, wasn't open on weekends, left message. Received a call back 10am Monday morning. The rep didn't have a full grasp of the product until I sent him a photo of the issue. Rep said they would ship me a new chute and deflector. Hopefully the welds hold this time. Electric start worked great and it did throw the snow adequately, but breaking during first use is disappointing. January 27, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very frustrated with this purchase The pull start assembly was non functional after I had assembled the snowblower. The rope pulls out but does not retract. I removed the pull start assembly and took it to the local Home Depot who said they needed to order a new one and as of 12/31/14 it has been 3 weeks. I did receive a call from "Joe" at Home Depot after the first week saying the part would be in that week, but this was just not true. Still waiting on the part. It loolks like we will have snow in St. Louis before I am able to actually test out this snowblower. December 31, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by great until it broke Was pretty easy to put together and very easy to start and use. It worked very well be we only got to use it 2 times before a belt broke there was a lot of snow but it wasn't heavy. We had a friend come look at it and he found one belt broke on auger and the other belt was wearing already and the belt pulleys were tighter than they should have been. We also tried to get a new belt at home depot but they didn't even carry the belt. We ended up returning the snow blower. February 15, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I finally got a few chances to use this product. The first time, the belt smoked a bit while using it in a light fluffy snow. The second running was in similar snow. I didn't notice any belt smoke and it worked well. The third time I used it was in a wet snow. It clogged quickly and sounded strained to throw the snow. I stopped and cleared the base of the chute a few times. The chute is spot welded to the piece that allows me to rotate the chute. The welds broke, and the chute fell off, rendering the snow thrower useless. Because Home Depot doesn't carry it in stock, I can't exchange it. Their solution was for me to return it to the store and purchase a more expensive model OR return it for a refund. Amerisun customer service basically runs "banker's hours" so I am out of luck with them for the weekend. I am returning it for refund and going to one of the local lawn and garden stores for my next purchase. January 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good I have not had a chance to try this yet, the weather "experts" all predicted that this year would be worse than last year with snowfall, but so far we only had a dusting. This product seems to be of very good quality. Nothing seems flimsy or cheap. I feel like it was an excellent value. The only problem was I could not find the 5w-30 4 stroke oil at Home Depot, or my local Pep Boys. Because of the cold weather this will be run in, I was reluctant to try it with anything thicker. I had to order it from amazon. It would be nice if the store carried it. My shopping experience was great. I ordered online, it was at the store on time, the store associates were great with getting me in and out within 5 minutes. They were even going to help me load it in but another patron helped me while I was waiting for an associate, I say waiting but it had only been about 30 seconds before the patron outside offered to help.
