regarding running time; it says up to 9 hours. is that per take of gas? what do you do to keep it running beyond 9 hours?
Asked by: peggy
It will run on one tank of gas for 9 hours if it's at 50% load. Obviously if the load is higher then the run time per tank is less. Just keep a hefty reserve of extra fuel.

2,500-Watt Gasoline Powered Portable Generator is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good generator for the money Removed from box added oil and gas started after three pulls let it run for approximately 5 minutes, then shut it down, took it on a hunting trip set it up and ran with no problems, did what I wanted, only draw back was I thought it was louder than what expected used a program on smartphone for db rating and it was in specs. will try and quiet it down by building a baffle box. All in all good purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quietest of the non-inverter gen's Couldn't believe how quiet this was- my son and I could talk over it. I also like the metal (not plastic) fuel tank. No longer worried that the kids will crack the plastic tank by stacking things on it. This runs my camper appliances with no problems including the roof ac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from U Need U Got Great for home use, wish I had when power went out last time. Unpacked, filled with oil, gas, enabled choke, pulled once and it started right up. plugged in grinder and ran smooth. This will be great for camping, outages, weddings? ok maybey not. Live well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just big enough for emergency usage Got this during holidays sat a terrific discount. Had looked at a small generator to get us through power outages . Mainly something to run our sumps but enough for a space heater or fridge with a couple of lights . This fit the bill . Filled fuel and oil , set it up and it started on the second pull. It almost cranked up on the first pull. Tested it with some garage electrical items and put it in storage for whenever we need it. Thanks for one of best deals I've seen on a generator over 2k watts . ALSO this has a 2 yr warranty which few others share.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, great value, great service Ordering from home depot was great, super fast shipping. Initial quality of this generator seems good, but I won't know for sure until I am able to use it more. Starts right out of the box with ease, good instructions, and powered a bunch of different tools and appliances with ease. The only issue I had was with the chain that connects the fuel tank to the fuel tank cap... It broke instantly and dropped into the tank. I was able to get it out and I don't really see the use for it anyway so no big deal. I got it on sale through Home Depot and felt like it was a steal!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oil leak I got one last week and I was super happy. I ran it and load tested it and was happy with everything including the noise level. I ran it about 1.5 hours the noise level being much less than our mower. As I turned the fuel valve off I see a oil drip between the engine and the generator section of the unit. It was a 4''x4'' puddle that appeared to be coming from the output shaft seal. I took it back to HD and ordered the same unit. Easy returns @ HD.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well when needed I was surprised by a power outage 3 days ago. Just bought this generator from The Home Depot for an emergency just like the one I had. It was about 5 degrees outside when the power went out, I pulled on the cord 3 or 4 times, and this baby started right up. It ran my furnace, and a couple lights, and the fridge without a problem. I think it's a good machine, and at a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2500 Watt Generator So far so good. Picked it up as a precaution for this years hurricane season. At 2500w it's enough to power the "essentials" if our power goes out and small enough to transport for camping, etc.. Got it on sale during a "deal of the day" special and it arrived several days before estimated delivery date.I like that this one has an amp/volt meter on it so you can monitor load as you power up equipment. Also like that it has 4 outlets for convenience. Un-boxed it and it was in great shape, filled with fuel (non-ethanol), and it fired right up with a couple pulls. I have only used it so far to power 500w flood lights and a couple of large fans while testing it's operation. Ran it for 2-3 hours with no problems. Afterwards I shut off fuel to the carburetor and allowed it to run dry for storage. Only additional item I wish it was equipped with would be a hobbs meter (hour meter), planning on adding on at a later date so that I can keep track of run time for maintenance. Only con is that it is a little louder than I expected it to be...think push lawnmower.
