Without starting the inevitable s-storm that is interlock vs transfer switch, the powerstroke manual is unclear about which setting this unit is. If it's a neutral-ground bonded unit, does anyone know where the jumper is located for removal? (Yes, i know this might void a warrenty)

Answer:
I'm answering my own question after looking at the electrical diagram. It seems they put a jumper between the neutral & ground on the 20 amp duplex receptacle furthest from the 30 amp plug. Pull the panel and remove the jumper and it'll turn it into a floating neutral generator to use in backfeed applications. Make sure you label the generator appropriately and make yourself a simple neutral ground plug Read More

Answer:
Hi Dollabill, when not in use just like any other gas equipment you can store it in a garage, however when in use it will need to be outside but needs to be covered as to not expose it to the elements. When doing so make sure the mufflers exhaust can breathe. Hope that helps!

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 66 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wow! This thing is big and heavy! And loud! But it works. Since the power was out from hurricane Mathew, and we really needed a generator, we didn't have time to shop around, so what they had in stock was what we went with. That being said, it seems to have plenty of power. We ran two refrigerators for almost three days, and it lasted a good 8-9 hours on a tank of gas. I had to get help to load it into my pickup at the store, and the only way I could get it off at home was to unbox it and put the wheels on in the bed of my truck, then build a ramp to roll it down. It is way too heavy for my wife and I to pick up. It was easy to start up, and ran without any issues, but even sitting outside away from the house, we just had to shut it off for a few hours at night see we could sleep. It would be nice if it was just a bit quieter. I may look into putting a better muffler on it. One feature I like is that it has a 240 volt output, and I might be able to use it to run a welder if I need to do any welding away from the workshop. October 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great investment Nice generator with a large fuel tank that lasted for hours. We were able to plug in a full size refrigerator/freezer, a small chest freezer, satellite receiver, T.V., gaming consoles and our network equipment with no issues. We were out power for 3 days due to the flooding when Hurricane Matthew showed up. I would have given it 5 stars, but one of the wires connected to the back of the off switch somehow got loose and I couldn't shut the generator down. I reconnected the wire and was able to shut it down. October 18, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LOUD! This is a really good generator- I was able to keep my refrigerator, 2fans, and several lights going during the power outage (12 hours) from Hurricane Matthew. It's just the loudest generator I've ever heard! October 18, 2016
