6,800-Watt Gasoline Powered Electric Start Portable Generator with Honda GX390 Engine is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great generator Thanks to hurricane Matthew, we put our generator to test, it passed with fling colors. No issues at all. This generator will run most things in a regular house but not all at once. It most likely will not run your heating and air. It did run the water heater with the refrigerators and freezers off. Lights and fans are no problem. When sizing a generator, POWER (watts) equals Amperes times voltage . So if you have something that pulls 5 amps and runs on 120 volts, 5 x 120= 600 watts. Our generator would run about 10 hours on a tank of gas. I have 50 plus hours on it now,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's running our whole house as I write this We bought this unit a couple of years ago, and this is the first extended outage during which we've gotten to really test it. It runs our well pump with a 500 ft well, our furnace, all of our lights, a TV, a chest freezer and a refrigerator. I've been cautious in running everything at once, but I'm pretty sure it could handle it. I've run all of the above except for the well pump simultaneously. When we shower, I just turn off a few other items and run the pump and the oil furnace. It's been humming away for about 24 hours straight now since the heavy snow took out the local power in southern New Hampshire, with only breaks for fuel replenishment. The electric start is awesome. You don't have to fight with it, not that you would, since the Honda motor is just about bulletproof. The fuel tank is nice and large. Every time I go out there every few hours to top it off, there's still plenty of fuel in there. I could probably run it all night, but I've been checking on it about every five hours because I'm paranoid like that. The only thing is that it can run a little rough after a cold start, and that's a pretty minor complaint. It usually settles out after a few minutes. Also, if you run something heavy off of it, like a microwave, it can also start the motor surging up and down a bit. Nothing major, but enough to make you want to unplug sensitive items. It doesn't have fancy inverter electronics and it doesn't throttle down at low demand like more expensive, purebred Honda units, but you get the reliability and ruggedness of the Honda motor at a more affordable price. Overall, it's a fantastic value for the money, and the extra dollars from cheaper models buy you a much more robust setup. We're really happy with ours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a Honda motor!!!! Great generator! Has the Honda motor and 6800w is more than sufficient to power up my needs. My old generator died last two days of the Sandy power outage so this was my choice after careful deliberations. 8 gal steel gas tank is plenty of storage and the only thing I would have liked to see was a voltage and ampere meter and no fuel gauge. Other than that it has it all including a very easy to use trickle charger for the battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Power and Reliability Bought to replace a smaller generator so more of the house could have power in an outage. Assembly was simple, filled oil and gas and ran for ten minutes. It started instantly and ran smooth. Two days later a substation had a fire and the generator was forced into use. We were out for 41 hours and it ran perfectly. Within two days another outage and another 12 hours on generator. I am totally happy with this product. The only thing I feel it lacks is a fuel gage. It does, however, use less fuel than the specs say it burns. I filled every 12 hours with about six gallons.
