Height when collapsed for storing?

Can someone please tell me how many inches clearance I would need to store this thing? I live in a small NYC apartment and we don't have much storage space. Thanks!
Asked by: rikk
Gee, I don't know. It says 5.5" under specs. So I would go with that.

Customer Reviews

4000 lb. Triple Lift Floor Jack is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jack Bought the Jack after Christmas for my H-D. Before I bought this Jack I read all the reviews. It is everything the product details/ specification says it is. So if you read those before you buy it you will know it weighs 87 lbs but it lifts 4000 lbs. Also the collapsed height is 5.5 inches, so if your bikes frame is lower then that, you should have known that before you bought it. Fits under my roadking with no problems. Out of the box just put on the handle and it's ready to go. The handle comes apart for use in tight places or storage. Heavy duty product keeps bike stable without being tied down. Dose have tie down brackets on both sides. I am 5.5 160 and can roll my roadking around on the jack with no problems. Would highly recommend to anyone that works on there own bike and car/ truck.

It allows me to move my drz400s around my repair shop. It will lift my Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe but doesn't fit because my motor parts fit below the frame. I need a adapter of some sort for best result on the Yamaha. I like the lock bar that makes a safe lift. It works the way it says it will. Its a all around shop jack and should work fine for most vehicle lifting too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jack for the money I bought this jack to replace a full size motorcycle stand and a large garage floor jack. It's very stable and only takes up a fraction of the space in my garage. Note: It also comes with a large pin to lock the jack in place if using it as a floor stand. It's a good safety idea, but no provision to store the pin when not in use. I wire tied it to the handle so I wouldn't loose it.

It lifts high enough to get the job done. I really like the size as it is somewhat compact, easy to move around and store.

First, the Powerbuilt triple lift floor jack was twisted right out of the box. In other words on a flat concrete floor it rocks back and forth like a four legged table with on short leg. And, yes I did try multiple concrete spots; the entire garage. This is hard to believe - that they could not square up their steel, like in a jig, before welding it together. Now, I verified that all the wheels are installed equally in height, etc.; so yes, it's a faulty chines weld job! Second, a floor jack has typically has a pipe that you pump to lift, which you rotate right to lock it for lifting or rotate right to let the jack down. The rotation of the pipe is kind of difficult compared to ALL other floor jacks that I have used; it's just not right. I believe it's due to the gear teeth not meshing smoothly, which are pretty rough looking. I've owned floor jacks for 40 years, both US and Chines made, and they have been good, but this one disappoints me. So, now I have an 80 pound jack that I CANNOT Mail back. I'm willing to give a second one a try; I'm gonna have to call Home Depot and see if they'll let me return it to one of their stores?
