Bought this today, assembled at the store. Brought it home, put oil in it, put gas in it, and it fired right up. I let it run for about 15 minutes, and went to work. I was not impressed at all when I started working with it. It took a lot more physical effort than I expected to get it to dig good, and I was just turning over my garden from last year (sandy loam soil).
I shut it down and was looking it over when I noticed that when they put it together, they had the tines on the wrong side. I grabbed the metric tools, swapped out the tines in about 10 minutes, and noticed the difference immediately.
Overall, it's still a front tine tiller. Any of them require some physical effort from the user. It seems like a decent product for the money, and I'm not upset I had to fix it before it would work right.
If you want to just walk behind one and let it do all the work, do not buy this one, get a rear tine; or get a tractor and PTO tiller if you're really lazy.
The only thing I don't like about it, is the rear wheel set-up. I read an earlier review before heading out to the store today, the buyer complained about it's precarious function. They were right. It is usable, but takes some getting used to. Typical engineering mistake, everything looks good on paper.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MaxG Not a fancy schmancy - but gets work done.
I got this tiller for 3 days and first impression - it's good machine. This tiller is very quiet and gets work done - transmission is a gear transmission = reliable. Has 2 holes to replace the trans oil ( if ever needed to replace trans oil just in case a leak or something) - the transmission box is made from aluminum aloy - 2 halfs are bolted together ( = easily reparable) The metal for the base, shields , tines and handles - is havy gage - seems very strong ( compare to Husqvarna 208cc) - It's a basic tiller with no reverse or speed ajustments. Engine is very quiet and started from the first pull.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rudder Good quality for price!
Was bought assembled at store...was told none were in the box. Got home, put in oil and gas and on the first pull, the handle came off cord and cord wound up inside spindle. Had to disassemble top and retrieve cord. Redid knot in handle and added stop to cord. Next pull started immediately and ran smoothly. Pleased with overall performance, particularly on virgin soil. Have doubled size of garden!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Easy start, runs well; lost bolts
Starts easy; runs well. did a good job of tilling. Was also using to help dig out for trees and landscaping. Did what I expected for that
3 minor problems. The bolts holding the handle at the bottom kept getting loose. Applied Loc-Tite & they were fine
One of the upper bolts for the upper handle came loose before I noticed (even though I had tightened it pretty well)-lost it in the dirt; never found it
The third thing was the pin holding the depth guage was of poor design. It wouldn't stay in-finally lost that in the dirt as well
Other than that worked well

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 It has a belt!
Good for small gardens and getting in small areas but rear tine counter-rotating types are much better for larger gardens. Its advertized to be gear driven like its 100% gear driven but it has a belt and pulley type clutch under the inspection plates(under motor). There is no oil drain plug. You have to remove the oil filler cap an dump the old oil out which could be quite a challenge for older folks. It seems solidly built and does a good job in tough soil. Engine is very efficient and the transmission seems well designed and efficient as you can turn the tines by hand and spin the input pulley. Its quiet with very little exhaust fumes compared to the 30 year old one it replaced. Great for small fenced in gardens but go with rear tine if you have a large garden.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by zchf Good product for price
Very good tiller for the money. Has started first pull every time except when the pull handle came off and I had to take it apart to get the cord out. Pin for depth Gage poorly designed but nothing a little tape cant fix.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NUBBY Wow What a great machine!
This product does everything I want it to do and then some. I would recommend buying this tiller if you are needing one that works hard and is easy on the body. Great buy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CompostKing Great for the price and easy to get in smaller spaces
I am very happy with the purchase. Starts easy and runs good. I use it everytime I plant something and use it in my raised bed garden. It is small and light enough to recondition my flowerbeds and till in lots of compost. I also use it because of it small size to till up my compost pile every week when the pile temperature drops. I didn't think I would use it as much but it is small and easy to use.My wife says it was well worth the money and my neighbor says I am have making compost perfected. The only negative is the wheel like to flip back when transporting it but the design makes it quick to get full depth.
