I really like the Powermate 3000 watt (PM0103007) generator. It gives me the watts I require without being very large and heavy like my last generator. Even though it is a smaller generator it still has the 240 volt twistlock outlet that I need to connect to my house transfer switch. It also includes a12 volt outlet for automotive accessories, an hour meter and a fuel gauge. For a power outage I run a fridge, circulator pump on a boiler, and efficient CFL and LED lighting throughout the house. During test runs it has powered these items all at once with no problem. I really like that I can pick this up to load into the car trunk if needed. My 5500 watt generator was too heavy to pick up, and too large to transport in a full size trunk. The Powermate 3000 also makes a lot less noise. It is not silent, but sounds about the same as a push mower at idle. The other generators I have owned have been quite a bit louder. I am extremely happy with this generator.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BridgePaint Good Generator for the price
For a low priced generator this thing preforms. Ive been using one of these for years on construction sites where it dont get treated as good as it should. Always starts up easy and runs good in any weather from those hot summer days to the freezing cold winters. This unit gets dragged through some rough terrain, transported around in trucks and trailers every day, and holds up. Ive seen 2x4s dropped onto this from 12 feet and didnt even leave a mark. The only issue is one of the wheels fell off after a few years but with how we use it thats to be expected. great product overall though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by contractor very nice little generator
I read the reviews before I bought the generator and thought it sounded great. The reviews were spot on. It was a breeze to install, I filled it up with oil and it started on the first pull just as everyone had said. Since then, I have used it a few times to run my shop vac and a power saw and it worked great. It starts on the first pull every time I have used it. Its a really nice size and is very easy to pick up and move by yourself. None of the generators are what I would consider quiet, but this one is not as loud as some I have heard. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone.

I used this generator during the ice storm power outage in Pennsylvania Feb 2014. It ran the fridge and (gas) furnace perfectly so we were comfortable. I also ran a coffeemaker and some lights at the same time. We were without power for for three days and the generator ran for 22 hours. I had to add an ounce of oil during that time and the stated rating of 10 hr on a tank of fuel @ 1/2 load is about right. A very good value.

I've never owned a generator before this one so I have nothing to comare it to, but this one works very well. Is it noisy? No more noisy than a push mower. It started on the 1st or 2nd pull and ran without issue for the next 4 hrs. At one point, we over did the watts and popped the breaker. It was nice to to know this feature worked. I'd buy this product again. The price was right. I'm hoping this lasts for years to come.

Could not believe how hard it is to figure out what to buy.
I needed a small unit that I could haul up from my basement if I lost power. Needed at about 2600 watts to run a sump pump, furnace, and refrigerator. Wanted a name engine like honda, subaru, yamaha. Wanted a L14-30 twist lock for the transfer switch to be installed. Did not want to spend a ton of money on something I might use 3 times in 10 years. I might be asking for too much?
Eventually gave up on the name engine and bought this unit because it was in stock at the store. Was suppose to be only online. It is made by Pramac but is the consumer line. The engine is a Rato a knock off Honda. Was a little concerned.
Put together the wheel kit. Unit did not sit flush with wheels on, off like a diner table. Filled with oil, gased up and started on second pull. It did power my 1/4hp sump pump and the gas dryer motor, no problem. Turned it off a few times and always started on the first pull. It is a decent engine. A little loud but not bad. Well made. For the money and all the features I need I had to buy it. It is about 100 lbs. and easy to store with the fold down handles. In an emergency I can handle moving it outside. Worth the money!

One of the few generators this size with a 30 amp L14 receptacle which is needed to power up house panel. Started quickly and noise level was decent. Did not run it long enough to form opinion on RATO motor . Time will tell on longevity of motor. With everyone buying home generators now gas availability will become an issue. This is sized right to run heat/hot water and two refrigerators without using excessive amount of gas.
Overall think this generator is the right one for intended purporse.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WTC3 This is a great generator !!!
This generator has been great right out of the box (and it was shipped in another box with peanuts which was great!). It was easy to put together, and the instructions were in plain English, and straightforward. After putting in Gas and Oil, it started right up on the 2nd pull. Each time after that, it has started on the 1st pull. I have about 10 hours on the generator now, and all appears well. I have now put this into storage, and will see how it runs next year. This is for a remote application iin the wiles of Maine. Handled TV/DVD and box fan and various electrical items that needed charging easily. The oil fill could be easier to get to, but that is similar to almost all generators I have seen over time. Otherwise, the design is very good overall.
