bought this at home depot during a 3 day power outage (6-25-2015 chester county) and at the store they had a few availiable . i wasnt sure about buying one so big i just wanted one to power my fridge but this is what they had in stock so i bought it and so happy i went with such a big one . was ready to go once at home came with oil , power cord .all i had to get was gas . i put oil, gas and started up first pull . ran my fridge ,tv ,fios box , few lights , and also my neighbors fridge , tv & dvd player and lights all with no problems . since then my home is now wired to run this generator through a TRANSFER SWITCH which i also bought at home depot (relience brand) . as for noise , it does have a muffler with spark arrester but i would compare the sound level it to a running lawn mower.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mbt1 Love this little dynamo!
we purchased this for Hurricane Sandy - I must admit I would have bought another model if I'd had a choice, thank God I didn't. Comes fully assembled, wheeled it out of the box, added quart of oil and 7 gallons of gas and fired on the first pull. It's easy to manuever (of course when not running), stores easily. It's loud but when you have no electricity, that is music to the ears.
Hurricane Sandy took out our power and we ran the generator for the 10.3 hours we were without electricity without a refill. We powered a fridge, a freezer, LCD and LED TVs, cable box, PS3, electric fireplace, coffee pot, lights and charged cell phones. Couldn't ask for more.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by geeeyejo2 Update - Power Out and Working Great!
Well Sandy knocked out our power almost two hours ago - I had cords connected since last night - went outside and started her up with no problem - running light, pump and cable booster in basement on a 50 ft 14 gauge cord. Another two 100 ft 12 gauge cords are running into the first floor of the house and powering two lamps (one actually a halogen flood light), Fios modem, big screen TV, computers and chargers - no flickering - all working flawlessly - I have 10 gallons of gas on reserve and will check on things after about 9 hours of running. After the storm will look into hooking into the main panel - very happy with this unit!!!

Bought mine for hurricane Issac and it started first pull. Use it for about 47 hours with just stopping to refuel with no problems. Loud, but it performrd great.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by chris Havent needed yet, but worked great out of the box so far
While we have not had to really utilize the generator, I was able to power most of my home in a short amount of time. I already had the gentran hookup for my electrical supply installed. Luckily I also already had the 220V cable, as the unit only comes with a 110V multi plug extension cord (though It's a nice one.) Unpack, fill with oil, fill with fuel, plug into gentran, choke, prime one pull and it's running. turn choke off after a minute or so (it was coooooold that day) and flipped the switches on the gentran to power my house. (oil burner, smoke detectors, kitchen lights, refrigerator, freezer, water pump.)
Some extra 10/30 motor oil might be good to have on hand. They give you *almost* enough to fill the unit, but enough to fill it to an acceptable level.
Filling this unit with gasoline is probably my only qualm. The filler is in the center of the tank on top of the unit. trying to use a 5 gallon gas jug with the *new* *spillproof* *ventless* spigot, I wound up spilling quite a bit of gasoline on top of the unit as well as on me. Though this is really the fault of the spigot design and flimsy construction (not bought at home depot), if the fill cap was located at the edge of the unit, it would have been much easier.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Geeeyejo Seems like a great generator for the price
Waited on line at home depot for 13 hours before the hurricane and purchased this as it was the only one that had arrived. Might have opted for a Briggs and Stratton or Generac but beggars can't be choosers a few hours before a major storm! Perhaps premature to rate but based upon features and price seems like a nice unit. Nothing to assemble - just add oil (says capacity is 1+quart but quart provided seemed to fill) and gas and started on first half pull! Seems a little loud but don't really care as it will be in shed when running. Comes with a splitter for the 220 line so can accommodate 4 + 4 (8 total)115 volt outlets - alot of capacity. Tested it briefly and it works!
Hopefully will not need it but will update when I actually get to use it and get a feel for the capacity...

Unit worked right out of the box. Added oil and filled her up. I recently installed a generator ready load center and wired up an inlet box out in my shed. I havent needed to use this for any emergencies yet but I just tested it out on my house. I was able to run all of the following: Oil heat and hot water heater, 2 fridges, 1 freezer, lots in different rooms, computer, Tv, and lighting. This generator will work for a "whole house" as long as you dont have electric heat and/or electric hot water. So in my case I could easily run my entire house. I also dont think its too loud. I had it parked outside of my shed which is 50 feet away and you cant hear it from inside the house.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lumberjack Durable, ASSEMBLED IN U.S.A., Plenty of power, reliable.
I bought this generator after a blizzard hit and half of the state lost power. It starts on second pull no matter what the temperature is. Has enough wattage to run most of the house's appliances. It has 20 AND 30 amp outlets (amps are VERY important). It comes with the storm package although I used my own Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil. I HIGHLY recommend this product.
