In order to wire this up, I need to know whether it has three or four cords running from the motor, that is:
--two hot wires and a ground wire OR
--two hot wires, a ground wire and a neutral wire.

Thanks.

I own this compressor. It works great, pumps to 155 PSI but leaks down to 75 PSI overnight and down to 0 in a couple days.

Don't see any leaks spaying soap solution on the fittings. I have a ball shutoff valve at the tank, and this leakdown occurs with it off. Any ideas? A bad check valve maybe?

Answer:
Regarding your Powermate 60 Gallon Air Compressor, the reason for your PSI drop could be a defective check valve? Besides spraying soap solution on the fittings, please also spray the unloader fitting (black elbow under the switch), transfer tubes and the fittings thread into the tank. Please let us know @ Powermate Customer Care if the leak is still present.

Answer:
Air Delivery 13.4 SCFM @ 40PSI
155 Maximum Pressure (psi)
Air Delivery 11.5 SCFM @ 90PSI
15 Amperage (amps)
For a use example I purchased one of these to paint a truck. I used a quality HVLP spray gun which had 15 cfm demand. The air compressor would keep up but never shuts off when spraying. So its a bare minimum compressor for that demand. Hope this helps.

Answer:
Could be typical for a compressor with some hours on it to build up oil residue around fittings and such. No big deal as long as its not running down the side.

60 Gal. Stationary Electric Air Compressor is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy I had this compressor for almost 5 years now and it has been great, very quiet for a compressor, keeps up with all my needs at home which include working with a sand blaster, impact gun and ratchets, Aring up anything that need air. Will recommend to anyone needing a compressor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definately a nice compressor! Very quiet compared to the previous compressor we had, (we replaced with the same model, but the old unit had a twin V instead of the twin vertical cylinders and old unit seemed to be noisier). Very pleased with it. It would have been nice if this was available in the stores though and not have to pay $100 shipping. I bought the next smaller unit from the store and it was poorly constructed, the plastic tube to the pressure switch popped out and was not repairable in house). This unit seems to have a metal tube in it's place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item, even better with free shipping Excellent compressor, actually the same compressor and motor as the Industrial air 60 gallon model. Good flow rate, you'll want to pick up the regulator for this as the factory setting was the full 155psi rating of the tank. Also the unit ships out of MN if you are buying online

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy I had wanted a larger compressor for a while and caught this one on sale. It has met all my expectations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Compressor broke in less than 8 months...manufacturer will not honor warranty BIG disappointment... aluminum head failed and manufacturer will not honor the warranty

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Workhorse I use this for working on my classic VW's and my other daily drivers. I also use it to clearcoat custom made wood surfboards along with a number of side uses. Good grief, how did I ever live without one. This drives a 650 ft lb torque wrench with ease. I was surprised at how little the compressor has to kick in. The tank has plenty of reserve. My only complaint is that it does not come with a regulator, and do not buy the one HD sells. (The one by Husky) It is no good! This compressor, however, is top notch. Just make sure you read the instructions and follow the break-in procedure. It is very very important to break it in before you use it. Simple procedure- let it run for whatever they recommend (I forget now, I think 20 minutes) then change the oil. In one afternoon I did complete brake jobs on my 1970 Karmann Ghia and my 2000 XTerra. You just can't beat air tools with proper CFM's running them. If you have a place with 220V get this compressor. Use a long air hose if you have to. I plug mine up where my dryer plugs in and run a 100' hose around to the driveway. It is way better than waiting for a smaller compressor to recycle all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance, looks and value in one package Could not pass up the Black Friday pricing on this one. It is built by Sanborn (in the business a long time) and seems to be rugged and reliable. It is a good looking compressor as well and compliments my roller tool boxes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broken parts The unit was loaded on my pickup at your store and was still in it's factory wraping.Your loading dock personnel did an excellent job getting it on my truck. We did not unload unit for over a week till I came back from a trip. When we did unwrap it we found 2 pieces from the top of the compressor were broken (part #160-0266)We have to repair these parts before we can start the compressor and thus unable to write a review. Your loading people didn't damage it I believe it was done in transit to your store. Arthur G. Lang III
