This Powermate yard blower is both powerful and professional. The unit is built to last. It has a steel fan with a solid construction and large rear wheels. My husband is very impressed with the construction and performance of this unit.
The unit comes supplied with oil. The only assembly required is to attach the upper handle to the frame of the blower. This was easily done in a minute.
After adding oil and gasoline, my husband chose to change the blower discharge to the front as he cleared debris from our rear walkway.
The blower performs with a high velocity, working better than any hand blower. It clears dirt and leaves efficiently with ease. Overall, this yard tool is sturdy, easy to use and works to a high level

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JamesC Easy to set up and use. Powerful. A great machine.
Out of the box, set up of the Powermate Cyclone Leaf Blower was quick and easy, requiring only attachment of the handle using the included metal bolts and plastic wing nuts. I assume these machines are tested at the factory before release as the blower smelled strongly of gasoline and there was a small amount of gas in the fuel tank, as well as oil in the crankcase, which I didn’t know until I attempted to add oil as instructed by the operations manual. A 19 ounce bottle of SAE oil is included. The manual instructs to pour the entire contents of the oil into the crankcase, but since there was already some amount of oil in there, I overfilled the reservoir and had to remove oil before operating the blower for the first time. In hindsight, I should have checked the oil level while slowly adding oil to avoid overfilling. The blower’s 4-stroke engine requires no mixing of gas and oil. This is a solid, well-built piece of equipment and one that I much prefer over a backpack leaf blower. The gauge quality of the steel is very good and IMHO is comparable to commercial-grade lawn equipment. The recoil pull start is easy, but one comment is that the location of the pull start handle is behind the blower’s lower bar handle, making the bar handle seem like an afterthought or that the blower was designed without a handle in mind. Once you manage to grab the handle, pull start is fairly easy and the odd placement of the handle does make you pull the cord in a straight up manner, as is required for starting. In terms of operation, this blower does a great job of quickly displacing leaves and light yard debris, especially off of pavement and patio areas. The wheels are not self-propelled, but they are large and roll easily, even over grass, although it’s more difficult to blow leaves off the lawn due to resistance created by the grass. I was able to clear a 1-acre property in under an hour, which is impressive considering that it’d ordinarily take me several hours to do the same area using my backpack leaf blower. The Powermate blower includes an optional-use attachment for blowing leaves frontward rather than to the side. The air flow can be adjusted between 3 positions: straight (level), 15-degrees upward and 15-degrees downward. When not in use, the front flow attachment can be stored under the frame at the rear of the blower. In terms of noise, this unit is louder than a walk-behind lawnmower, so hearing protection is recommended. I’ve used this leaf blower several times. This is a great leaf blower and has exceeded my expectations.

We have come a long way in leaf blowing hardware, from back in the day, when you grandfather blew threw a straw, to today’s sophisticated machinery. While not the top brand among the yard machines, this unit works like the pros. I used it to clean my yard after a long winter and with ease this thing blew sticks, leaves and dead grass clear across the lawn. I didn’t have to rake at all. It started with ease and gives you a few different choices on output. The large rear wheels allow it to ride easily over the grass, although rocks or roots will require some jockeying. It is quite loud though, so a good pair of headphones should be used. It also is quite compact , so it fits great into smaller spaces. Overall, for the price and quality I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a push leaf blower that makes a daunting task, much easier.

This walk behind blower cleared my front yard in minutes. It has a high velocity 150 mph winds that push dirt and yard debris very easy. Side discharge with front flow attachment that is included. It took a few minutes to assemble the handle, put in the oil and gas and I was up and running. Steel fan and housing to help it last a long time. This unit started right up on the first try. Easy to push around the driveway and front yard. It blew my leaves and pine needles into a nice pile. 12" wheels make it easy to move around. Padded foam grips on the handle for comfort. 163 cc stroke engine is powerful enough for any job. One 19oz bottle of SAE oil is included. The blower is great for commercial or at home use and I am very happy with mine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mastadruma Got leaves? This blower makes easy work for your lawn clean up!
I received my new Powermate walk behind gas blower just in time to clean up my yard. The fall season littered my 4 acre property with hundreds of pounds of leaves and seed pods. Usually I have to hire a lawn crew to do the work for me, since a rake would take me many weekends. Out of the box, this blower looks sturdy, beefy, and designed to move a lot of air! It comes 96% assembled. The only thing you have to do is put the 2 piece handle together by screwing in the two supplied wingnut bolts. Once done, you add the engine oil (supplied in the box) with a funnel. Please see my pictures for this step. I went to the gas station for some fresh gas. Once added, I primed the choke and pulled the ripcord. The first thing I noticed is that the engine started up but did not want to stay on. I reprimed the engine and pulled the cord again. same thing happened. The third time I pulled the cord, I pressed the primer button while the engine was running to feed more gas into the engine. It seemed to me that I needed to continue pressing the primer to "break in" the engine to having a solid feed of gas. After about 2 minutes doing this, the engine stayed on and produced a serious amount of air output. I was able to turn this blower on a dime. The three wheel design is great for keeping straight lines on my lawn. I was able to blow all the leaves into a central pile, saving me hours of work. I think this machine is an excellent tool for every home.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never had a bad experience with Powermate before, but I’m very disappointed with this item. Upon removing the almost completely assembled blower from the packaging (all you have to do is connect the push bar), I followed the quickstart instructions to begin using it. I added oil & then gas, only to scramble to gather rags as gas began pouring out of numerous parts of the machine (see photo) onto my garage floor. Realizing the product was obviously defective, I called their customer service line who informed me that yes, in fact, that was a defect & I would need to take it to an authorized warranty service provider to have it fixed. Unfortunately for me, the closest one authorized to do outdoor power equipment was 40 minutes away.
The technician at the service center said the blower was missing a nut on the housing and the needle valve was not properly seated. While the nut was an unusual problem, he said the needle valve issue was something they regularly saw.
The process of getting warranty work completed was complicated by the fact that I didn’t have a receipt, so given that and the fact that the repair shop is not somewhere I can easily swing by after work, it will probably be a full month or more after receipt of this item before I’m able to actually use it. I originally planned to wait until after it was repaired to write a review so I could comment on its performance. However, I decided no matter how flawlessly it performed from here on out, at best I would give it two stars, simply because an item should work out of the box. Under different circumstances, I most certainly would have returned the item and purchased another brand and/or model.
So again, I reiterate that I’ve never had any issues with Powermate products before (I own a couple), but I absolutely can’t recommend this item. If you’re still inclined to give it a go, I highly recommend you check the Powermate website to see if there’s an approved service center located in your area before purchasing this item.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Faisal Powerful, functional and easy to store
This blower replaced my gas powered hand held blower and I am very happy with the giant leap I have made.
Right out of the box, there wasn’t much involved to assemble it, just attached the handles, added the oil & gas and I was rolling. I have not experienced any startup troubles to date. In fact my experience had always been great with other Powermate yard tools I own. One thing I always recommend is not to use Ethanol based gas especially within the month when you plan to store it for a longer period of time or siphon the gas before storing and your gas tools will last you ages.
I have a 0.2 acre backyard and this blower has been great keeping it clean and green in a lot less time with a lot less effort. My yard is graded pretty straight and I generally keep the grass 3-4 inches tall. With that, I am able to easily maneuver it back and forth. Some reviewers mentioned that its front small wheel makes the maneuverability difficult on uneven terrain. In my experience, uneven terrain always adds some struggle to the handling so I would not say it’s due to the wheel size. Blower is capable of discharging the air from the front or the left side. I have used both and I believe that the side discharge is more functional and allows me to cover large areas easily.
The construction is solid and nicely finished however I will recommend storing it inside the garage rather than covering it outdoors. I really appreciate the soft padding on the handle; it does help during long cleaning tasks. I am yet to find a problem with this blower. I love it and recommend for personal use.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dcline Great Tool But Some Shortcomings
I have been using this blower for a couple of months now, and finally feel like I have enough experience with it to write a complete review. I have only used handheld blowers previously, and this is really a complement to a handheld, not a replacement.
I have found several tasks that are easy with a handheld blower but difficult or impossible with this walk-behind. There is zero throttle adjustment, and I found that in many places the airflow was too strong and actually blew mulch out of beds into the yard. It is totally worthless in the garage because of swirling air, and not worth lifting up onto the porch. It is also too wide to be useful on a sidewalk without the front airflow adapter, as it only clears about 6" of one side. It is also useless on a curb, as it creates too much turbulence and disburses the debris in all directions.
There are a few things it does better than a handheld blower. Obviously it moves a lot more air without the effort of having to carry it around. After finishing a big project, cleanup is a lot easier with a blower on wheels. I also discovered that it makes pressure washing much easier in places where the water pools, as it can keep them dry enough to clean thoroughly. It also does a great job of clearing wet grass and mud off of the driveway and patios, cleaning them almost as well as a stiff broom with much less effort. Lastly, cleaning up fallen pine limbs and needles all over the yard after a storm is much easier, simply making one pass at a time until the yard was clear.
As for reliability, my unit was nearly impossible to start the first time. I probably primed it 50 times before it finally cranked, then it immediately stalled. No idea why a choke was omitted, but since that first time it hasn't been a problem again. Two priming pumps and one pull to get it started every time. Aside from the bulkiness and excessive airflow in some situations, it is a great blower and makes cleanup much faster and less tiresome.
