What is the wall thickness of this pipe insulation (1" diameter x 6')? I am looking for 1/2" walls.

Is this 1" inside diameter size being discontinued/not to be carried any more?

As I have in the past, I went to local store only to find none (had 1/2" and 3/4"). Not even a shelf space or label for it. Looking here online, it shows unavailable at Genesee store and limited quantity at nearby stores. Any way to tell if HD won't be carrying the 1" size here in San Diego area any more? Thanks.

The 1 in. x 6 ft. Polyethylene Pipe Insulation still exists, but it is being re-numbered in the system. To find the same item online, search using these numbers: Model # PI1216PE Internet # 204759171 Store SKU # 1000031649 . If your local store does not have it in inventory, we suggest asking the store manager about that, and if/when they plan to have them back in stock.

Customer Reviews

1 in. x 6 ft. Polyethylene Pipe Insulation is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helps Prevent Frozen Pipes We don’t hit hard freeze in this part of CA very often, or for very long. Despite this, I still find it a good idea to protect some of our exposed 1” diameter PVC exterior water pipes. This product comes pre-scored down the 6’ length for easy splitting by hand with not extra tools necessary. Once split, it can easily be wrapped over exposed pipes for added freeze protection. Since this product does not hand a self-sealing feature, I highly suggest securing the wrap (method of your choosing: zip-tie, tape, etc…). I prefer to cover this foam with 2.5” 324A tape to prevent sun damage & it adds a little extra protection. Since this product does “snap” over the pipe, securing it is at your discretion. Product holds up well on its own for a few seasons depending on sunlight exposure outdoors. Also find this to be very hands for a number of other household uses ranging from craft projects, added padding on the kids bikes, padding on my boat bow rails, flotation for fishing nets & poles …. The list of uses is limited only by ones imagination to use something for an alternative use at a fraction of the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Found a new use for these babies!!! I have a backyard ice rink at my house. Every year, keeping the liner in place on the boards is a real challenge. Some years I have used Clips, staples, clamps. None of these solutions seem to work. I have seen some people have used pool noodles, but it seems like that can be super expensive, especially when there is a lot of liner feet. I figured, that these things could serve the same purpose....and boy was I right. I just used a small srew with a washer to fasten them in place and the hold the liner perfectly.
