Answer:
No handles, just a giant, heavy weight plastic. I was able to slide the mattress across carpet an hardwood floors easily, but the plastic is not super heavy weight. Sliding across something like a door jamb might cause a tear. Grabbing the slack plastic to make a handle punctured the bag -- so I advise against that solution.

Answer:
It does not have handles, but my brother-in-law and I were able to grasp the excess plastic and carry it by that. I hate moving mattresses, and even just excess plastic to hold onto made it easier.

Answer:
no it does not have handles. It was over sized for our queen mattresses, we had to tape up the extra, but you could divide the plastic on both sides to make a handle. We used forearm lifts to move them with more ease.

It can hold one or the other unless they are very, very thin items. I put an 18" inch thick queen in the bag and there was no room for anything else.

You would have to take care not to make a hole, and then you would have to seal it carefully. Answer:
This is quite thin plastic -- probably thinner than a regular trash bag. It also doesn't seal itself, so you need tape to close off the ends. You might be better off buying plastic sheeting from the paint section (sold in large rolls) and taping it around the mattress yourself. That plastic is thicker and in my opinion more durable for long term storage.
