Well paper is pretty much paper except when you need to pack things for a short transport and short storage period. Newspaper sucks - the print rubs off and gets everything filthy. The Pratt packing paper from Home Depot was a good choice for me; it was inexpensive and the sheets are large enough that most were cut in half or even fourths. It also is easy to rip right down the middle in a good way - scissors just keep getting lost in all the boxes and packing material. If the outer plastic is removed properly it can be used to store the remaining paper in to transport back and forth if needed. The next time I need to pack items for moving I will get more of this paper.

This is good packing paper to wrap all but the most fragile items, usually two sheets per item. I shopped Walmart, Lowe's, and Home Depot, and the paper is fairly standard and about the same price per sheet at each, but HD has the smallest package, so you don't waste by buying more than you need. You need a lot of paper to make sure nothing in the box moves, but since it's all the same price only buy what you need. I've moved quite a bit, and Home Depot has the best packing supplies of the three.

I've had tissue paper stand up better when cushioning something. I put my fingers through this paper more times than I can count. It does work well lining the bottom of a box just before packing items or crumpled in the box to fill a small space so items won't shift. We went to one of the move yourself companies (with the orange trucks) and purchased paper and boxes. Both were much stronger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn't have been able to move without it It's just similar to standard newspaper but without all the text and a bit slicker (maybe less recycled material?). It was perfect for wrapping fragile items. I even cut sheets down to smaller sizes to conserve. I bought two packs and was able to wrap all my dishes, decanters, small mirrors/frames, and nick nacks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very helpful to have to wrap my fragile items along... Very helpful to have to wrap my fragile items along with things that need to be consolidated into one wrapped item. Paper is sturdy and I could use 1-3 sheets per item. The only reason I give this a good vs excellent is that the size is a bit small for some of my larger items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packing paper is a must have! For any move I would highly recommend Home Depot's packing paper. It made packing my kitchen and collectibles much easier. It is a much greater option than saving newspaper for weeks and will not stain your valuables.

It's packing paper....more expensive than an entire newspaper stand filled with Sunday papers that most only pay the price of one. I hate the ink mess all over from newspapers....so it's worth the $ spent!
