This spring, I had finally gotten my first Dahlia Bulbs and my husband was going to do the planting for me as I had just had surgery and couldn't do it by myself. He took me to the garden center and asked me what I wanted to use for weed preventer? I looked around and decided to used Preen because I wanted something that would do a good job. Boy, am I glad I did. They were absolutely beautiful and gorgeous colors!!! I couldn't be happier with my flowers and guess what?? NO WEEDS!!! None! And there will never ever be weeds in my gardens again!!!

My aging body is so grateful for Preen. A quick application prevents hours of back-breaking, knee aching weeding as I found out a few years ago. Preen was introduced to me by my Sister-in-Law and I've been a fan ever since. I am thrilled to see that Preen has tailored their weed preventer to the different regions in the US.
I lay down the first application in early spring, another at the start of summer and the final application goes on in early fall. I would estimate that my weeding time has been reduced by 75%; in my opinion, Preen is worth every cent.
Aside from Preen working incredibly well, the application of Preen takes just minutes thanks to the built in applicator spout (no spreaders needed). I've included a photo of the innovative spout so you can see it in action. Once the spout is open and the Preen starts flowing, simple move the bottle back and forth, applying a generous coat (about 10-12 granules per size of a US Quarter). Try to avoid applying to plant roots or it could damage or kill the plants you are trying to protect. Water in the Preen directly after the application. That is it!
I will caution you that Preen creates a protective top layer in the soil which prevents seeds from growing into weeds for up to three months. Unfortunately, Preen will mistake your plant seeds for weed seeds so do not apply to seeded gardens until your plants become established. Because Preen creates a protective top layer in your soil, disturbing the Preened soil may allow weeds to grow in the disturbed area. Note, there are a few vegetable seeds that will grow in Preened soil so if in doubt, refer to the directions or Preen's website before you apply this product. Preen will not kill existing weeds, you must remove the existing weeds, then Preen for a weed-free experience.
I highly recommend Preen and will continue to use this product for years down the road.

I live in Alabama where there are a lot of weeds. Preen has been a God send. I sprinkle it early spring after removing any small amount of weeds and it keep the weeds down for the rest of the summer. I might see a few pop up every now and then. I will pull them up and that's the end to my weeding. I'm 66 years old and if it wasn't for Preen I probably would not be able to have a flower garden. It really help to save my back during the hot months of the year.

I bought this back in the summer and this work really well. I didn't have to weed around my trees and shrubs which made less work for me. I will continue to buy this and would highly recommend this product to weed around trees and shrubs if you don't want to have to pull weeds.

After using Preen on my flowers and shrubs, they have really grown and look beautiful. The combination of both weed killer with plant food is a very economical way to bring out the best in my garden.
