Product Overview

Preserva Wood Oil-Based Penetrating Stain and Sealer is ideal for beautifying and protecting exterior wood surfaces such as fences, decks and unpainted wood siding. This oil based stain penetrates deeply into your wood, giving superior protection, especially in harsh environments that cycle between sun and snow. The formula's organic oils protect the wood from water damage, while natural reflective pigments provide superior protection against UV damage. Pacific redwood has more pigment for better protection, while showing as a pale red color on wood.

California residents: see  Proposition 65 information

Answer:
If you are outside California, in the Western US, it is either on the shelf at your local Home Depot, or you can easily order it from HomeDepot.com. If you are in California, you will need to place a special order at the Customer Service Desk. Use "special order sku" number 1000061480 and keep our toll free number handy, 800-797-2537.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Preservawood, Penefin Duckback, I use them all. I have little problems with any of the products I mention in my title. I use all of them and can say I like the smell of Penefin best, other then that, it comes down to colors. Preservawood is the best value. They apply the same, they have equal longevity in similar conditions. May 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good coverage This stain goes on easy has a nice color also. The drying time seems normal compared to other stains I've used in the past. It is a bit thin but for the most part it covered good a few spots didn't cover as good as others . not sure if maybe it was the wood itself. They give great directions on how to apply it and clean up afterwards It didn't take to long to do the job with this stain. I also used it on two different types of wood and that could of had some effect on how it covered. May 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great Watching to see if it stands the test of time, but went on smooth and looks great. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Preserve penetrating stain and sealer Absolutely amazing product , especially if you want to make old, old wood look great again without a lot of steps and work! I use it every year on a deck. Sorry Home Depot doesn't stock in the stores anymore. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Product worked as advertised I painted the wood border in my backyard with one coat. It came out great. This freshened up the appearance in the backyard. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sealer Excellent product with good coverage and absorbtion February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I've tried many finishes on my redwood deck, and this has proven to be one of the best. It's not the longest lasting, yet the longer lasting products I tried were coatings that eventually started peeling and were a pain to sand off. I like that this one soaks into the wood and isn't some separate layer that can peel. I had no trouble with application; some reviews I had read talked about this product being very sticky - I'm pretty sure that was a result of not wiping off the excess product as described in the instructions. The color ended up being lighter than I expected but I suspect that'll get darker each year as I recoat it. The company also has great customer service - I emailed them with a question about how to determine when it's time to reapply a new coat, and they responded very quickly with an informative answer, not just some canned response. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Have used better stains. I have used better outdoor oil based stains. This Oil-based Pacific Redwood Penetrating Stain and Sealer is VERY thin. I mean thin as is water thin. They claim that it has great penetration. However, I did not see that. I only noticed less than 1/16" of penetration, which t me is not a lot. Being s thin and only putting on one coat as instructed you could barely see a redwood color. September 30, 2015
