Answer:
In order for us to properly answer this we would need the faucet model number as the different models use different parts and the installation is not the same.

I know R125SS works this way and I believe this is the same valve but with all sweat connections vs. the threaded connections R125SS has. Both have screw stops. Is this correct?

I had a plumber come to change it but when we took off the shower handle and trim plate, this valve was on and will not work with Model # T371.240.002. Can I replace just the front plastic part with
American Standard Model # R110 Pressure Balance Valve Body Only and put on the new trim kit? I am trying to avoid cutting through the wall.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Take the old one out, put the new one in The old one (six years old) had to be pried out a bit, but other than that installation was easy: an Allen wrench and two screwdrivers. September 6, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works almost too well Okay...we built our home in 2010. It's wonderful and we have all American Standard faucets, shower, toilet etc. The real complaint is that our downstairs shower valve (anti-scald) keeps "popping". Meaning the water is coming out hot and then it "pops" not allowing you to continue to turn the water to hot. It's like there is a brick wall in the handle. The first time it did it (two winters ago), we replaced the valve - no big deal and we went on with life. The next year, it "popped" again and we replaced it. Again, not a big deal thinking it's keeping us safe. However, it has now done it for a third time and third year in a row. Now we have to replace it again. It's getting expensive. The upstairs shower has the exact same head/hardware/valves and we've never had a problem. So although the anti-scald thing is great, for some reason it overdoes it's job on our downstairs shower. Yes, I still recommend it for the safety feature but this is the last time I'm replacing it. It does it again and I'll get something completely different. November 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Was installed very easily Product arrived quickly and was easy to install. I would recommend for anyone who has a leaking valve. March 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Installed without an issue. High quality component for American Standard tub and shower faucet. This valve works well without leaks. High quality. February 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice valve, installation guide can be misleading I like this valve. Great functionality & features with interchangable trims. I mistakenly finalized the valve placement before having the exact finish wall depth. Big mistake. Luckily, a 3/4" extension for the cartridge is available. March 22, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ease of use This is the only valve that gives you volume control and temperature control in a single lever valve. It is unbeatable for the price. January 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Volume Control This is one of the few valves on the market that provides volume control on a Pressure Balance valve at a competitive price. April 9, 2012
