Answer:
These aren't good for fence post but should do well just sitting on the ground since you are not worried about them being straight

I want to make a raised garden and was hoping to use the pressure-treated wood to save the labor and additional expense in having to coat/treat regular pine.

Thank you!

Rated 2.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good only for Firewood Bought one after going thru a whole batch just to find one that was straight and not beat to H. Went back for more and visited two different store and ALL were either beat to H, warped or cracked. Meanwhile the one I had at home warped. Needless to say these will NOT work for fence posts. Best to avoid August 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Read the specifications - not for in-ground use! All of this type of PT lumber HD carries is for ground-contact use *only*. They haven't sold in-ground PT lumber in their stores out here in years. Do not build your fence posts, deck footings, etc with this stuff. For it's actual purpose: ground contact and above ground outdoor use it's fine. But if you put it in the ground you'll be replacing it in a few years. You'll probably have to special order in-ground-rated PT lumber because it's getting harder and harder to find out hrre in California. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by suit my purposes fine We've used dozens of these for fence posts, etc. I like that it's pressure treated and I like the dark brown color. Like all lumber at Home Depot and elsewhere, you have to pick through to select pieces that are not warped, split, etc. Lots of good quality lumber to be found. August 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A real let down This product was pulled by a store associate and they had chunks from the fork lift and a lot of them are warped and twisted. July 8, 2014
