This is a well made planter with a feature I've never seen before--a fibrous 'sleeve' for the planting medium that seems to swell when watered the first time to keep moisture in the potting soil. Since this is a hanging basket, it means that I won't have to struggle to water over my head as frequently. Currently I've got begonias planted in it, and I can hardly wait to see how they perform!!
The metal holder is supposed to be 'rust resistant'--it is painted with a black lacquer. We'll see!

I purchased two of these baskets to hang on a double pole attached to my back deck. They are very well built and the design is beautiful. The chain is sturdy and is attached to sections of the basket where there's only a very small amount of room to move around. You don't have to worry about your pot tipping if the chain moves while you're hanging it up or taking it down. I specifically purchased these because of the bucket design. I purchased some pre-planted hanging baskets, removed the hanger and just set them in these. Since they are more of a bucket style rather than round, the basket fits in perfectly! It's nice to have the option to do that or plant your own flowers directly in the basket. I'm planning on having these for many, many planting seasons!

I got these, thinking they looked pretty acceptable from the picture online. But when I got them, they weren't as big as I had hoped. Also, the coir lining is so thin you can see through it. There's a plastic sheet inside the bottom of the lining, but no drain holes at all, so I tore that out. I always line pots with black plastic anyway and cut holes it liner with scissors. Good thing too, because dirt in these pots without plastic lining would wash right out through the coir!!! Not a good buy. There are better pots.
