Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Installation, Works as Advertised Got one of these a couple of days after a murder in our quiet, peaceable neighborhood; some lunatic (still at large) shot a lady dead after she opened her door to him. He also shot another lady in the house, but she's expected to survive. It's occurred to me in the past that I never know who's at my door until I open it, and I figure now is as good a time as any to correct the situation. After reading a number of reviews of viewers that required a 9/16" drill bit, I decided to go with one that could fit in a 1/2" hole; I didn't want to buy a new bit just for the one job. Having settled on that, I looked at what the store had in stock. There were a number of more expensive viewers that claimed a 200-degree field of view (that's 200 degrees top to bottom, not side to side). This one was "only" 160 degrees. Looking at the diagrams on the packages, the difference seemed insignificant to me, and as this one was about half the price of the 200-degree models, and it came in the brass finish I preferred, I bought it. Easy installation. I drilled a 3/16" pilot hole, then took my 1/2" bit to it and finished the job. Took some doing, as our door is solid oak. I dry-fitted the viewer and my wife and I tested it; we found that no matter where I stood on our porch, I could not get out of her line of sight from inside the house. I then took the viewer out, put some caulk around the seats, and reinstalled. I used a butter knife to tighten it down - no regular screwdriver is big enough for the job. The whole job, from the time I opened the package, to the time I'd put away the last tool and swept up the sawdust, took about 1/2 hour. So our house is a tiny bit safer now. And, for the record, our house is NOT a "gun-free zone." Bad guys, you've been warned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Garage Safety Best addition to a door leading from the kitchen to the garage. It's safer to check to see if someone got into the garage, before you open the door!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from replaced my old door viewer I bought this to replace the old one that I inherited from the previous owner. no idea how long that one has been there but it was all foggy and blurry. I didn't wanna expand the existing whole so this one fits perfectly. very easy to install. One tip: use a quarter instead of a screwdriver to tighten it up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Just what I needed! Great peephole and very easy to install. I wanted a 200 degree viewer but did not have a big enough drill attachment so I settled with a smaller viewer. What I like is its size and simplicity. From the outside you can barely tell it's there even on a black door.
