Answer:
This is for doors and/or windows with a slot and channel on the frame where the base of the strip fits. The strip has the base flexible but sturdy so it stays put in position. This way it does not need to be self-adhesive. Not only that it insulates the openings from temperature, noise, wind and dust, but also makes the sliding of the door or window smooth and silent.

The diagram shows a solid backing. However, I want to make sure the product is not a zipper backing.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. There was a rolling change for this item... depending on where stock is being pulled from it is very much possible that this has already changed over completely to zipper back, which is what we show on our end. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Photo and illustration will be updated to reflect these changes.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best deal. Worth the wait. I was upset when I learned HD did not carry this item in the store, so I searched for it online. Big was my surprise when I found the best deal online from Home Depot itself. Plus the option to have it shipped to the store for free. That's great! August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Product pictures inaccurate Product may be fine, but pictures are inaccurate. The attached pictures are much more accurate. I'll be returning this. I want the part as drawn and pictured (w/o the "zipper backing" and w/o adhesive) whatever part number that is. August 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Product picture innacurate Product pile height is way lower than pictured 5/32 inch so it won't insulate as advertised. Item returned. October 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Window Weatherstrip Enough online details to accurately order the correct size and assembly in the window system was a snap compared to getting the door slider out of the track and back in.... April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy so far! Our almost 40 year old windows and doors had NO weatherstripping on them at all.....and we could not find this particular weatherstripping at a reasonable cost, and HomeDepot does not offer in store, so we ordered it online, which worked out well. So far two windows have been done, and the replacement went very well. September 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1/4 inch wool pile weatherstrip Exactly what I needed. Fit perfectly. I used to be able to buy this locally, but they no longer stock it. September 27, 2011
