Customer Questions & Answers

Would this work on wooden windows?

Our older wooden windows were all painted shut. We're working on getting them open, but they still do not slide easily. Would this be a good product to use?

Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. This dry film lubricant works great on many surfaces where friction reduction is desired, but it sounds like you still may have some old caked-up and over-lapping paint that may be contributing to the difficult operation of the window.

For additional questions regarding this item, or any other product manufactured by Prime-Line Products, please call their toll free number at (877) 649-9740, or contact them by email at info@primeline.net

What is the lubricating element?

Most products clearly state what it is that provides the results. This one says that it is not silicone, but dry-film based. I would like to evaluate a product on what it IS, rather than on what it is NOT. I could guess that the element is PTFE, or perhaps a combination of PTFE and something else, but I would rather just have the correct information at first glance.

The MSDS sheet on HD website states PTFE polymer.

Can this be used on the screw in part of a light bulb bottom, to make the bulb easier to remove from the socket when needing to be replaced. Bulbs don't get changed as frequently any more and sometimes get stuck in the socket over time and become almost impossible to remove without some breakage.
