Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. If your question is if this can be installed 21 in. up from the floor; yes it can. For optimum performance this security device should be mounted closer to the height of the door's handle set.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install Purchased three security bars. All have an excellent finish and look great. Installation was simple and even the instructions were clear. Much easier to use than wooden dowel rods where you have to stoop to the floor or the security pins trying to get the door lined up with the second small hole. October 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Secure The sliding door security bar was easy to install and easy to use. I highly recommend it December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE IT!!!! If you have a patio door - STOP BENDING OVER TO GET THE STICK!!!! Here is the answer: install this nice looking bar at the center of your door. It needs to be cut to length but that is more secure than the one in the store where you have a part that slides everytime you move the bar. (drill and add a screw to keep it locked) This one has a friction stop to hold it up when you want it out of the way. There is a key that fits over the end for added security which locks the bar when in the down position. I can't tell you how nice this product is in value, quality and appeal! I have used it for a month with a constant in and out pet issue and it has been worth every penny! Just remember to install it about waist height and you will be glad you got one! March 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by appearance can be inhanced by useing bronze slefdrilling screws. The silver screws that came with the bars did not give a profishanal look also by useing selfdrilling bronze screws time of install is reduced. March 20, 2012
