Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fred Description is incorrect.
I'm grading the accuracy of the description not the item.
"Compatible with 1/2 in. to 1 in. door thickness." Not true. The actual package for U-9943 states: "Fits 9/16" thick panel". This item is about 1/8" too short for my needs. Look at the second diagram to see if this is correct for you. In case you need to return it, this package needs to be opened carefully and that's not easy to do.

For the price, the lockset comes with various length cams to suit your needs.
I actually used this to secure a metal hood on my lawn tractor!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MDMG Easy install, works great
Not much to say, other than the lock does its job well. There's enough pieces in there to work in many situations and takes about a minute to install.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bossjockey Worked well for me.
I read the one review from the guy who has installed thousands of these locks and wonder what was his problem, because I didn't have any. My concern was the thickness of the door it was to be mounted on. Once I knew that I got the lock set that would work for that. The rest was a piece of cake.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shawn Horrible product. No instructions or guidance for how to purchase what size.
First let me start by saying that I have experience installing these locks. We used thousands of them in the casino business to lock pedestals that our machines were mounted on.
You would think that since size is so critical they would provide some sort of instructions for which size to buy. There is nothing and don't think you can guestimate. I bought a 3/4 based on a lock that the panel manufacturer provided as an option and it doesn't work. Not even close. And no way to use offset cams to make up the difference either.
Basically you have 3/8" or so to play with because you can use offset cams to move your locking mechanism in or out as necessary. But that's it...3/8". In order to get cams the right length and such you have to cut and trim them to align with your panel's slot. I did that and still can't get the right depth (door pushes in/out probably another 3/8" when locked).
Don't know what to buy now but the only way to install is to modify the cams that come with it by cutting. Of course then once you cut you have ruined the kit and can't return. Now I can go back and buy a new lock cylinder and return the larger 3/4 with the good set of cams but that is one heck of a hassle when all they would have to do is provide instructions on how to measure/size the lock you actually need.
