Have this lock on all 10 of my doors in my condo and in the past two weeks, have had two fully fail (handle turned but lock did not) resulting in having to kick down both doors. Worked okay for the two years i had them but they never fully felt solid and now im paying the price. Try to switch away from mortise locks altogether if possible.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DIYer Okay at first, but failure later
Initially, it was a little hard to fit and there was some friction when installed, but I wrote that off to the amount of chiseling and planing I had to do to get them into the old doors. I bought three, though, and only one of them worked completely smoothly. Recently, three years after installation, I had a total failure of the first lock I installed such that I had to break into the room through a window to avoid dismantling the door frame, only to find out that the flange that pulls the bolt had folded over. I installed the other two at a later date, so I hope that's not indicative of things to come.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stephanie Perfect fit for replacing origional 1924 craftsman interior door knobs
We had to replace our interior door knobs because our doors simply weren't closing or opening without a struggle. We had original Mortise handlesets from 1924. And my options were to either 1) put in new Mortise handlesets, 2) put on metal brackets to allow us to put on new updated non-Mortise knobs on the old doors, or 3) replace our doors and add new updated knobs. Option #1 was the cheapest and allowed us to stay true to the 1924 style with a fresh twist. These new ones fit almost perfectly into the old slots. So far I have installed 3. They were pretty easy to install and only took a little wood chiseling for the strike plate placement.
I am extremely satisfied and will be ordering three more to finish three closets and pull the whole house together.
I recommend them!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Myrt Good replacement for old style knobs
This lockset worked great for me. Its easily reversible. The plates eliminate the issue of chewed away wood from where the old lock went, and get screwed in beyond the mortised section so theirs no bottoming out issue. Nice modern look, my only issue is I wish they were more like $20 bucks, the weight of the metal is a little light feeling, and my store doesn't carry them in stock.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Maily Extremely poor quality
This lock may look great from a distance but is so poorly made that not only did not knobs not fit together, the lock itself is sticky and would not retract when the doorknob is turned. I would not recommend this doorknob set and prefer to spend a little more on a quality product elsewhere.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chris This product is just what our antique doors needed.
I fit the old door great. Once I removed the old lock and handle, this one fit perfect. The price was reasonable enough to buy 3 to replace 3 different handles.

It looks nice but relatively cheaply made especially when compared to the old piece removed from the 80 year old door. Also, older doors were thinner, so I had to cut down the shaft about 3/4" so knobs would be snug with the door. My bad for not thinking about that. Otherwise looks nice.
