CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Safety Spring Door Closer, White Easy to install, works great and not bad looking on the door December 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Does not close the door. Screws provided are way too short. Will only go through door trim molding and drywall. Need to be longer to go into door stud. Had to make another trip. Still no good. Even though instructions say not to preload, I did. First one, then two holes. Still would not close door fully. They are going back. And, YES, I installed it with the arrow pointing toward the door. November 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I wonder about some of the reviews I wonder if the people writing bad reviews installed it upside down? There is an embossed arrow that should point at the door. If you install it backwards/upside down, it would not work properly. November 20, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by It lasted April to September of 2014. Less than 6 months of normal use. I bought two of these little door closers. Easy to install, they look good and I was happy for the first month... The front door (infrequent use) still works ok, but the back door that I use a dozen times a day kept getting soft (not closing all the way), so about once a month I would increase the tension by 1/4 turn. Today, that quarter turn broke the device. The door was not very heavy, but I did use this household back door frequently. Now I'm off to buy a heavy duty one and will not buy these again. If you use the door infrequently, it might be a good fit, but clearly a disappointment for me, not even half a year of life out of the device. And I don't have the box to return it and I'm not going to search for the receipt. :( August 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Was Prepared to Return....But It Works! For the past 6 years, we've had an annoying occurrence with the entry door in the garage. After parking the car and closing the garage door, we'd enter the home and give the door a push behind us to close. I don't know if it's the wind, pressure or what but the door had a nasty habit of getting about 1/2 inch from closing and then pop back open. Of course this caused the alarm system to chirp again and made you have to turn back around and close the darn door again. VERY annoying! Was at Home Depot today getting some things and decided to see what kind of closers they had. I did not want some ginormous closer arm on my door so I picked up one of these little Safety Door Closers. For only $14, I was prepared to take it back because I figured there was no way it would work. Took about 5 minutes to install it and after adjusting it twice, the thing works like a charm. Doesn't slam the door or anything like that but closes just right. Now.....let's see how long it last. For $14 and made in China, I'm not going to get my hopes up! haha June 8, 2014
